After the incredibly cheerful Closest To Death thread, I thought we could all do with a lift! Who broke your heart worse than any other bitch/b******? Has it affected your opinion towards relationships/men/women?

Just to show my sentimental side, I had my heart spectacularly broken a while ago and, being brutally honest, my trust has been totally destroyed since then. There you go... underneath that cynical exterior lies a tale of tragedy and heatbreak....

Most of the women in my life have broken my heart. Apparently I'm too 'nice'. If someone can enliten me on that one, I'd be grateful. The best one: Been going out with said girl, err, two months. Went to her mum and step dads wedding. She dumped me at the reception, then stood on a chair and shouted, "Ladies, I've just dumped this sad tosser. He's all yours, but I'll warn you he's s**t in bed!" To say I was emotionally destroyed would be an understatement. Begin the mockery...

Northern, I like the way she added "I'll warn you he's s*** in bed" as I expect after the "I've dumped this sad tosser" line there were a few ladies thinking "aye aye I could be in here" That old "Too nice" line is a strange one. There's a lot of crazy women out there who always end up with an abusive partner. But Northern I'm sure you don't need us to tell you you're better off without her - what a ropey old minger she sounds. When I was 20 my heart was broken by this 28 year old woman I'd been seeing. Actually Heartbroken's too strong a word. I just missed the sex.

I was going out with a girl for over a year and a half and Daddy decided he'd pay for her to go travelling to Australia/New Zealand. I didn't want her to go but obviously didn't tell her. She promised that she'd keep in touch and couldn't wait to spend her life with me when she got back. We decided that I'd meet her in Thailand 2 weeks before she was due to come home so we could have a holiday together and fly home on the same day. She stayed in regular contact until a week before I was due to fly out and I new from the one phone conversation we had that something wasn't right. I found out (can't be bothered to explain how) that she'd met a guy that she liked, he liked her, yet I still went to Thailand in the hope that things would work. They didn't. She tried to keep the secret badly the whole holiday that things with Steve (the guy) were purely a friendship and rather than rip up her passport and take off, I stayed with her. Just thinking about her lies makes me feel sick now, even though I'm over her. She dumped me a week after being back in England. My trust in people went for months and made me realise that friends and family are more important than anything. I did spend too much time trying to find another happy relationship afterwards and you just expect the same thing to happen again. Now I'm glad she dumped me, my current girlfriend is lovely and I trust her fully, which surprises me, as the Thailand episode wasn't the first time I've been cheated on. I guess you just have to remember that everybody is different, and not as evil as your ex.

Well, its nice to hear a bit of support. But then you're all Palace fanns, so I consider you family. Not in the 'brothers and sisters', more like cousins, two or three times removed. Still, the good news is she sh*gged some random bloke at the reception, shortly after I left (Like I was gonna hang around), and she is I as I like to call it, 'in the pudding club', and soesn't know who the father is. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Ahem, sorry. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! She tried to pin it on me. But one of her friends cruelly reminded her of what she had said...
