Some of us have seen Bobby Moore, Best, Law, Hoddle, Cantona, Beckham, Lombardo etc... great players, but is there one outstanding performance from the opposition (or from our lot if you like) which stands out in your memory. Mine's a prem game back in '95 v Sheffield Wednesday - Guy Whittingham put them 1 up but Armstrong and Dowie won it for us. MoM was Chris Waddle - never knew how good he was till I saw him hovver on the wing time and again with two defenders on tiptoe facing him cacking themselves if they committed that he'll go past them so having to stand off till the round shouldered one whipped in perfectly timed and weighted crosses with the outside of his boot on to a sixpence between goalie and defenders for Wednesday runners to run on to and miss getting on to by a fag paper's width - he did this about five or six times in one half at the Whitehorse End and Palace fans booed him every time he got the ball out of pure fear. That's mine, what's yours?

a performance that always sticks in my mind was ian wright taking on plymouth by himself in the late 80's.....he scored a hat trick in a 5-1 win and one of his goals he turned several of their defenders inside out twisting and turning,they just couldn't contain him.....those were the days

David Giles for me v Swansea in FA CUP. Not for us but for them.3-3. He was awesome. We bought him on the back of that performance. He was somewhat less than awesome from then on. In fact, crap.

A 5-man forward line who scored 3 goals in 10 minutes on 27th September 2011 at .......................

Five pens in all. We missed 3, scored one and so did Brighton.

I'm not sure if anyone will remember this, but early on in our promotion season of '89 we beat Leicester 4-2 at home. Geoff Thomas produced probably one of the best individual performances i ever saw at Selhurst. He was just everywhere! It was like there were 3 of him out there - one in defence, midfield and attack.

So involved was he that he also managed to hit the opposition and our OWN bar! I remember one bit that had us all laughing in the Arthur and underlined his absolute committment and dominance. The Leicester forwards had the ball just inside our half and Thomas burst in, tackled them and won the ball, and at break neck speed and under no pressure continued to hurtle towards our goal, almost as if he was a Leicester player on the attack, just to make sure the ball was safe. Not sure if that despcription has painted the scene, but it just encapsulated a truely Captain Marvel performance.

I actually talked to him about that game at the end of that season and he was obviously very proud of his performance.
