In the spirit of the new forum I lifted (or rather, will lift when I get to a web browser that lets me) the following info from :

[Link]

At the bottom of the list are the players who played only one game. I've scanned a few names and have to admit that a few surprised me - namely that both Simon Thomas and Rhoys Wiggins only ever played the one game.

Anyone remember any of these players - and should they have got more game time or was once more than enough? Any other memories relating to those who had "blink and you'll miss them" careers at Palace? basically anyone who played less than a season really.

My personal favourite is undoubtedly young " ? palmer" from the 1905 - 1906 season. Nowhere near as good as his more expressive brother " ! Palmer" but those were the days when punctuation marks made acceptable first names.

I think I best leave this forum alone.

Cedric Carasso is worth a mention.

I remember when Trevor Francis brought him on, he looked like he'd been working at the local pie shop!

Went on to become a French international and Champions League regular!

He was huge, well remembered. Weird how some players turn out.

Who the hell was Kenny Verhoenen? Anyone?

Wasn't he Belgian? Certainly remember the name - can't remember what he was like though as a player.

I always remember Sean Hankin. Poor sod, he came in when we were on a run of bad form and had a shocker of a first half which he never recovered from.

Quick google search reveals he was Belgian but he totally passed me by!

Hankin had a few games at Crawley - around 2004/2005 ish I think - and wasn't too bad. Another one I missed playing for Palace.

Nathan Ashton I do remember coming in at left back (signed at the same time as Kyel Reid I think) . I ssem to recall him going off at half time (injury?) and signing for Taylor at Wycombe. Don't recall him being too bad but subsequent career makes me wonder about my memory.

Hardly worth another thread, so who's had the biggest impact in the fewest games for Palace?

Nicola Ventola (3) would be impossible to beat, if his goal had indeed kept us up.

Ventola was absolute class - very much a "What if..." player.

In recent times, Iain Turner's 5 games were very impressive. I can remember Kenny Brown's 9 games quite vividly as well. Some great players in there as well as some absolute carthorses.

Brian Launders brought back some memories - appeared from nowhere, started brilliantly, then disappeared to nowhere shortly afterwards.

I'm going to edit the thread title and first post to account for this change of direction though!

6 games in fact in our 2004-2005 season (I thought it was less as well) . Looked a clas act with the ball at his feet, but the very definition of a "luxury player"
