Just a word of warning.. I think it would be a fantastic signing but I hope it doesn't become rapidly apparent he does not have the legs and is shot, like a Brolin. If we sign him then hopefully GB has done a thorough assessment to make sure he's still up for it.

We've played the last couple of seasons with a holding midfielder with no legs, so why not? Not knocking Derry - loved what he did for us - but the holding position is the least demanding in terms of energy. Think this would be ideal on so many levels - and i've never seen a player play with glasses on since i was in primary school

This is madness..!!!Edgar Davids(cough)!!listen up Palace people if this is true OMG...i dont care about his age this guy has lived and breathed football for years AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL there is no way a man of his calibre is gonna want to ruin his hard earned rep...if hes serious..hes serious,mr burley and 2010 aint messing with your money thats for sure...cause if they pull this off along with a prem striker on loan after the 25 man cut off..then palace are gonna cause some serious problems.this could potentially be as big as bellamy at cardiff...ps doubters...just remember during pre-season everyone was impressed by a relative unknown in the italian David Biaccio(spelling not sure)at 35 so why not DAVIDS...beggars belief really!!!

Wether you think he's up to still playing football or not, there's still so many other positives if he does sign. Think about it, attendances might get a little boost due to people wanting to come see a world footballing legend play, plus other players may want to join Palace to have a chance to play along side him, there so many positives if this is true.
