Equally, it's stupid to keep him in his position while 2010 talk to new managers, because when burley asks for money to spend on targets, Parish either has to back him or say he won't be here next week! Which would also hit the dressing room hard. Don't you find this worrying? I have a staff (approximately the size of a football team in number) who report to me, and I cannot imagine I would fire any of them based on their performance on a single day or a single project. That decision would be based over a number of weeks of output, and it wouldn't be swayed by one good achievement on the day I'd already decided to fire them. Footballers are pragmatists, by the way.
