There's just no pleasing some people. At least Steve was arsed to come on and answer some questions - many of which most owners would dodge in an official conference. Surely it's blindingly obvious that for him to answer certain questions would compromise or hinder the club's search for a new manager/new signings.

CPFC. It's in my blood.

Was it Burley's idea to sell Alan Lee and Johnny Ertl Steve?

Johnny had gone already when we took over. Alan Lee we got an offer and the manager was happy to accept it,if he hadnt then Alan wouldnt be sold.

for the record I think it was the right thing to do.

Steve, did you not realise Alan Lee was better than Pele and Maradona combined?

The man hasn't a clue obviously. Alan Lee created god, it is a fact.

Sorry Steve but truth is truth.

He said 'No thanks'

Right. Sorry if this goes against the grain, but I'm really disappointed with the Q&A session tonight. I think Mr Parish was VERY selective as to which questions he answered, and I firmly believe that the session was more of a publicity stunt than a genuine attempt to keep the fans up to date and provide transparency.

Syd posed some superb questions - ignored. Still there is no answer as to why it is acceptable for a board of directors to make such big decisions on one poor performance - and before anyone jumps in and talks about the season as a whole, Mr Parish himself said that the sacking would not necessarily have happened had the result/performance today have been different.

My other huge concern is that, despite having it put to him time and again that Burley was working with a decimated squad - he pretty much laughed this off and made out that it was Burley's squad. I'm sorry, but Burley was appointed at a time when he had to strengthen immediately - and did the best he could do to repair a lot of damage in a short space of time.

A few months is simply not enough time to build and shape a squad - especially with the transfer window system that is in place today. I also think we've had awful luck with injuries - another point that has been conveniently ignored.

All in all, today has brought me back down to earth with a massive bang. CPFC2010 may well turn out to be better for our club than previous owners (not hard) but they are far from perfect and far from the honest, transparent bunch that they would have us believe. I am also no longer convinced that they are the shrewd and patient owners I thought them to be.

A hugely disappointing day - only made worse by this sham of a Q and A session. Defeat, premature sacking and then this bollocks.

You're blatantly just attention seeking, good one.

CPFC2010 saved us from the brink. Steve Parish didn't have to come on here and answer questions. I find it refreshing that they speak on this forum, especially during an age where football fans couldn't be more distant from the people within football clubs.

I do agree with some of what you say, although I do feel that cpfc2010 are being as honest and open as they can be. Let us not forget that the board don't have to explain their actions to us if they do not want to - and the fact they do it on here is something we should be grateful of.

I am a little disappointed that the long term vision appears to have been overlooked and that I feel the Q and A didn't acknowledge the tough job GB has had to do. I was a little sad to read that the board feel that squad inadequacies were down to GB without a full transfer window in which he can purchase players behind him.

That said, they have had a tough job to do and a tough decision to take today. I feel they are in a position to take a more reasoned opinion given the information they have that we are not privy to.

I hope this has been a learning curve and it is onwards and upwards from here.

P.S I was sad that syd's questions weren't answered.

I'm really not. I think you'll find that I said that i'm sure we'll end up better off than with previous owners. CPFC are far from being beyond criticism.

They've been very clever in answering a few of the less searching questions in order to appease the masses - but it's the questions they haven't answered which paint the bigger picture in my opinion.

Oh, and as for saving the club from the brink - absolutely they did and I'm very grateful, I really am. However, so did a certain Simon Jorday once upon a time - but he got too big for his boots and nearly ruined us. This debt of gratitude cannot last forever, and I'm not going to be hoodwinked by a bit of cheap publicity. You can do as you please.

It's not surprising really.

I appreciate it was a difficult decision - which is exactly why I'd like to see some proper justification.

The only thing I am selectivly not answering is 'who will be our next manager'

other than that everything you asked has been addressed somewhere but to be clear for you.

I said that if we had won the game it would have depended on the performance as to whether George would have been sacked or not.

We have lost more games than anyone in the football league, we have conceded more goals, what would a manager have to do if you were in charge to get the sack?

I have also made it clear I was not happy with the lack of cover we have brought in for key players in the summer and in the window, especially given the budget that was available in the loan window, specifically 17 grand a week just so you don't say i havent put a number on it. which for the record could have probabaly got all three players on loan I have mentioned.

Your second point is wrong, decimated means to a value of 10% of what was there. We lost two first team regular players from the end of the season that we couldn't have kept.

Also a managers job is to pick players to bring in and the ones to let go.

I agree a few months is not enough time to shape and build a squad completly but its been 6 months and I think we could expect to see some progress.

We are not the only team that gets injuries , have problems etc.

Less of a sham PR stunt now?

Steve, the only concern I personally have is that we got rid of GB when the transfer window has opened. Do you not think that any transfers that should take place will be rushed?

I would say no. Marrow will probably come in but apart from the you can't give buying duties to someone who might not get the job permanantly.

Steve, thanks for taking the time.

Personally, I had 2 questions unanswered but thats fine. It's perfectly understandable to have some issues to be keep need to know.

In answer to other people's questions you've been pretty candid and we're pretty spoilt for football fans - long used to being treated like 3rd class citizens, especially by Chairmen.

Happy New Year to you too.

Hi Steve

I appreciate you taking the time to respond to be - and I sincerely hope you believe that I am only expressing genuine concerns - I'm generally one of the more positive members of this forum where Palace are concerned!

I think you've missed some very good, important questions, but I appreciate you've had a great many fired at you in a short space of time. I realise you can't name your targets here and now, and would not expect you to.

Publicity stunt or not, I remain concerned by your admission that Burley may have stayed had the result/performance been different today. Either the team is progressing or it is not - one performance makes very little difference.

As for the lack of cover brought in etc - I appreciate you've provided a budget, but you've also made it very, very clear that you want us to invest in the 'right' players rather than being pushed into panic buys. I think most of the players Burley's brought in have been good pieces of business - you yourself have highlighted Vaughan and Marrow and I'd certainly add Gardner from what I've seen. Sadly, he's been blighted by injury. Also, Counago has got better and better and fits the bill in my opinion.

Of course all teams get injury problems - but ours have been worse than most and have affected key players. This just is not the manager's fault.

Finally, I still don't buy this 'we only lost two players' thing. It is simply not true. Since the time last season when our financial plight became public, we've lost several very important players, and have been left with a squad of very limited experience. There's no way around it, and no way of resolving the matter instantly.

I've been really impressed with most of what you've said and done before today. I confess to being a bit of a cynic, and I'm all for you proving my doubts unfounded and making a fantastic, progressive appointment. Personally, I can't think of a stand-out candidate and I think you'll have to take a bit of a gamble - but I guess that's just where we are.

You have made your decision - there's obviously no turning back and we must all look to the future. I hope that you maintain your philosophy that cultured, attractive and attacking football is the way to go as that will help no end in our quest to maximise the potential of our younger players - and that's exactly what a club of our size should be about.

I appreciate your offer to meet at the Preston game. I can't think of anything to add to what I've said and don't want to waste your time for the sake of it. What it basically boils down to is my hatred for the modern hiring and firing football philosophy, and my hope that we'd rise above it. I sincerely hope that you've made the right decision, and that we will go on to become a club that others look up to and want to be a part of.
