i'm stunned at some of the people/posts on here.

it ranges from s***, stupid, repetitive questions being asked, to people complaining that their questions weren't answered (mine weren't, my toys are still in the pram) to people recommending Steve 'keep his mouth shut' and others damning it a publicity stunt!

...unbelievable.

And i'm sorry, but i have to say it:

Prin_cpfc, you have come across as a right spoiled, unreasonable, attention-seeking brat. I have no idea how old you are but if you're anything over 17 years old, it's very worrying.
Steve Parish doesn't have to answer directly to you (or anyone) and even when he does, you STILL continue to snipe and whinge. "I hope i still feel awful so i don't go on Monday."

Pathetic. Stay away Monday and try to grow up.

Before I reply to your rubbish can you answer one question, did you also think I was being serious about the sexism thing as well?

I didn't mention that, so why should you?

Plus, I wasn't really looking to enter a discussion with you- i made my judgement based on what you have said over the course of this thread and not what you are about to say in response to that judgement.

Have a nice day.

So you are not going to answer and you tell me to grow up. Before you start judging someone you know nothing about, I'd advise actually trying to find out what sort of person they are.

From what I have read, you obviously need to get off your high horse. I tell you what though, I will go on Monday and I'll cancel my season ticket. One less out of the 13k that go won't make a difference, eh?

With the greatest of respect, I think EEA has made a fair point. People do have different opinions and of course it is nice to have a sense of humour about things, but this thread was for people to have a direct conversation with the co-chairman of our football club. I am sure Steve had no real problem with picking through the jokes/inane comments, but many of the users of this site did - myself included, which is why I was I briefly trying to delete some of them.

In the space of an hour, there were 40,000 clicks on this thread. There was a multitude of people wanting information and the privilege to talk directly to Steve and only a relatively small fraction got to do so. It would be really helpful in the future if people showed each other a bit more respect. Looking thorough it now, I see little option but to suggest that next time people might find that the admin staff on the site will choose to remove them if they spoil things for other users again.

Do you actually have a shortlist in place or will you decide that if/when cv's are received?

we have a short . short list

a short short list, that can only include Gary Johnson and Gianfranco Zola then

gianfranco stands at 5'5 and a half, though he is a big football man .

gave stanislav and zines their debuts ; and had the likes of collison, tomkins and sears as regulars.

its noticeable that avram grant has turned to playing the youngsters in west ham recent upturn.

zola is 44 i think so we need to be looking for a young energetic manager if you are looking at long term progress

our strength has to be through our academy. in the short short term then dougie has to jump into the fire. malky mackay did the same at watford in between managers before taking over. whether freedman is ready we will have some idea in the next few games.

i dont think you can rule out zola bacause he is 44 years old, still got 20 years as a manager if he does well.

on another note to my previous post, does anybody think stuart pearce would like a league job again after excelling with the U21's?

im meant that being young is a plus point, if your looking long term. he is a modern manager, was assistant italy under 21 manager before west ham ; so he is well placed to judge young players.

I was interested in Steves point about George only needing to replace 2 players.
Derry and Hill.
Cannot remember the exact sequence of when players left but below is the team that played at Hillsborough.
Certainly 6 needed replacing.
Plus if it was only 2 Steve should not have sanctioned the others Davids etc.

Crystal Palace
01 Speroni
03 Hill 05 McCarthy
17 Lawrence 20 Butterfield 22 Ertlyellow card 04 Derry 07 Ambrose
14 Scannell (Davis 90)
18 Andrewyellow card (N'Diaye 61)
19 Lee (John 84)
Substitutes
35 Manns, 02 Clyne, 24 Davis, 10 Carle, 21 Djilali, 33 N'Diaye, 09 John

If read properley Steve said 2 KEY players Derry and Hill

Lawrance, Butterfield, Ertl, John were hardly KEY players

Lee was sold by Burley

Others mention Moses and Fonte they were not here at the end of last season let alone when CPFC2010 took over so can hardly be consideredBurley brought in Marrow, Vaughn, Gardner, Obika, Counago, Dorman, Davids, Garvan and Bennett so we lost 6 Players and replaced them with 9 players so that's a BIGGER squad than we ended with last season so numbers were hardly decimated. These are the players BURLEY replaced our outgoing players with.

As for Steve being arrogant and not answering some's questions if I remember rightly he was accused of only answering mens questions surely that's calling him sexist and being Arrogant maybe he took offence to this and answered accordingly.

The man come on here the day he sacked our manager to answer questions that takes courage and all he gets is sly put downs and slagged off pathetic. Regardless of whether his decision was right or wrong people who disagree start slagging him off and and saying the trust is broken if your that fuking bothered makes some money buy the club and run it your way or shut up.
It is ok to question his choices but to slag him off is diabolical.

As for all this knee jerk decision B@llocks and he said if we won he may not have been sacked and your worried by this. Think about it after the Forest game the board may have said we will give Burley a chance to turn it around but if there's one more heartless performance he's gone. So on this what Steve said would have been true about not sacking if we won but it wouldn't have been Knee jerk still so don't critisize untill you know the full story. Asking him would be fine but throwing a hissy fit because he decided against answering is childish.

As for my opinion I believe Burley's position become untenerable as of YESTERDAY losing to one of our closest rivals with no fight or passion is a disgrace.

I agree the players do share some of the blame but why are we not seeing the best of them is it down to motivation for the manager, the position were in or is it themselves but I'M sure we will soon find out.

Rant over

Ok - I've highlighted my two main areas of contention.

Firsly, Moses and Fonte left as a direct result of our financial difficulties - and we could not replace them at the time due to a transfer embargo. Therefore, no matter when they left, they had to be replaced and were key players - so it is very misleading to suggest otherwise.

Secondly - why oh why to people still confuse a lack of confidence with a lack of effort? I've no doubt we were awful yesterday, but to suggest we didn't try is absolutly ridiculous.

The middle part of your post is entirely speculative and doesn't really mean anything. The point is, Mr Parish himself said Burley may not have been sacked had we played better yesterday. This remains concerning - either he wasn't good enough and they were thinking about replacements, or he was and they weren't. It stinks of a 'fan's reaction' - we've lost to our rivals and we've reacted. A shame.

Finally, and STILL the crucial point - at the start of the season most of us predicted that we'd struggle this season and it would be a decent achievement to stay up. Why are we now surprised to be in a scrap?

The rest was speculative ok we lost 6 lets for a minute include moses and Fonte as you suggest, we replaced them with 9 so since Jan we lost 8 and replaced with 9 that's still a bigger squad thats not speculative thats FACT

Also when we lost Fonte and Moses we were still playing a hell of alot better than we are now just look at the Wednesday game Fight, Passion and as you say they also had no confidence Warnock jumped ship we lost our ability to get in the playoffs for a relegation fight, players knew they were out of a job in the summer is that a situation to be confidant in NO and they still played with fight, drive passion. Also confidance can be instilled by a manager unfortunately I don't think George had that trait.

By the way do we still remember the board got no money from Fonte or Moses or most of the season tickets.

As for the same old he wouldnt be sacked if we won is concerning- its not re-read my post and understand it.

Yes we did know it would be a difficult season but our performances have been below par so have our key players WHY (only one way to find out change manager and Steve has taken that CHANCE) he may be right or wrong who knows.

Another reason this wasn't knee joke last week in an interview where Parish rubbished rumours of Burley being sacked he said "George would still be in charge boxing day" now that to me suggests Burley would be given a final chance to prove himself does it not?.

I can only agree. Exeter are playing good football, the club is enjoying great success and the attendances are up as a result.

I'll only feel sorry for my Exeter supporting friends if we get him but that's life.

Quote Kermit8 at 01 Jan 2011 10.29pm

The general consensus on here Steve is that the right decision has been made and with enough time to reverse the way things were going before the season ends. WE mightn't do it but at least now there is a chance.

I strongly advise you to look at Paul Tisdale's CV even if just for future reference. The guy has spent just £50,000 on transfer fees in the last four seasons and his teams play football properly. Great with youth players too. I've watched Exeter a lot and the guy is almost God-like down here. He will understand the situation at Palace and turn it around with style given at least 18 months.

Out of interest, how many people who criticised CPFC2010 for the decision to sack Burley were at the Millwall game?

I've heard complete supporters of Burley walk away from that game and say he had to be sacked. Trust me, if you were there, you'd fully understand the decision. They looked absolutely lost out there, there was no game plan, the confidence was at an all time low, when the 2nd went in with 25 mins left they looked like they'd conceded in the 94th minute. And it wasn't knee-jerk, it was the final straw of a talented squad's failure to progress.

And if you're still not convinced, here's another point.

The games we've won this season:
Leicester (H) 3-2 (massive comeback)
Portsmouth (H) 4-1 (goal disallowed)
Norwich 2-1 (clearances off the line, wonder saves)
Watford (H) 3-2 (two wonder strikes after collapse)
Coventry (H) 2-0 (wonder save from Jules off Carsley, fortunate refereeing)
Doncaster (H) 1-0

Every single one of those games (including Portsmouth because they had a goal debatably ruled out at 1-1) we as fans have walked away and said, you know what, on another day we'd have lost that. The only possible exception is Doncaster, but they'd gone something like 6 games losing in a row.

So for us to get a win, after 6 months in charge, we're expected to be incredibly lucky or have a team losing 6 on the bounce visit us? Give over, this team wasn't going anywhere but down.

That's without the bloody lucky draws against Burnley and Cardiff. So the only result we've geninely deserved was a draw at Bristol City?

It's a results business, and he wasn't getting them.

maybe it would be more sensible in the future to have an arrangement where all questions were PM'd to moderators who would then post the sensible ones up for CPFC 2010 to answer in a locked topic with only the moderators and CPFC 2010 able to post but everyone able to view?

With the greatest of respect, I think EEA has made a fair point. People do have different opinions and of course it is nice to have a sense of humour about things, but this thread was for people to have a direct conversation with the co-chairman of our football club. I think a good idea would be for everyone to write a question then a MOD go through them and pick out 20-30 of the best and give the list to CPFC2010 to answer.
It would certainly stop all the silly posts and save cpfc2010 sifting throught posts to answer 5 or 6 because there is so many with a lot less confusion and once Cpfc2010 get the questions no more questions can be asked on thread

Dont worry just seen an above post stating the same thing wasnt there when i started
