be interesting to see if he claps the cherries fans arfter the plymouth game which is a deffo sign of thank you and goodnight

Wouldn't read too much into that, Eddie has the players in a huddle before and after each game and they always all clap the fans as they go off

I also did not realise he was so young, we have just signed a front man far older!

So did Eddie when, in an inspired move, the first person he brought back to the club after he was made manager was this Bournemouth legend:-

Anyway, why am I defending him to you 8-) . Move along now. Nothing to see here......

One of my favourite ever non-palace players. Couldn't trap a piano, scores an average of about 6 goals per season I believe, has been seen behind the wheel of his family hatchback in leather driving gloves on several occasions, refused to indulge in a bit of 'keepy-uppy' in his back garden when a couple of my mates were hired for his house move "I'm not allowed in case I get injured. Besides, anyone can do that with a flat ball (he's already been seen kicking the ball around with his son). Despite all this, like you say, an absolute Bournemouth legend - loyal to the club and works hard on the pitch.

Shame our fans can't get behind the likes of Calvin Andrew when, by all accounts, he's a similar type of player (although he can run, with super Steve has never really been capable of) and, by all accounts, a little bit less of a knob!

Can anybody please tell me why so many are happy with Eddie Howe. At 33 he should still be playing. He has no experience, and experience is what we need at the moment. We need a name that can attract good players. I have no doubt the he could be a great manager in, but we dont have time. There are enough good experienced managers available at the moment. We've missed out on Phil Brown, but, Paul Jewel, Big Sam, Alan Curbishly, Gareth Southgate, Chris Coleman, Ray Wilkins are just a few. I would prefer Dougie Freedman to get the job over Eddie Howe. Or is it the same old thing. We will NOT pay the wages for players or managers of any quality. DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and he would love to be, but a serious knee inury put an end to his playing career so he started in management very early. Remind you of anyone?

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand!

I reckon, Burley's sacking notwithstanding, that Parish and Long might be an attractive chairman.

I just reckon they're different to most football club chairmen, and that it's probably refreshing for a young manager.

I predicted a few pages ago he'd stay at Bournemouth.

But I'm now changing to say I predict he will come!

Eddie Howe and Bournemouth = Dougie Freedman and Palace!

Why steal someone elses idol when we have our own.

CILF?

I agree with you. Despite our placing in the table, I think we're an attractive proposition - never underestimate the London factor, either. Howe can be at the forefront of Palace's revolution, I hope he sees it that way.

Christ. That reads like a list of managers I wouldn't want, except for Allardyce.

That's all well and good but can you really compare the experience gained whilst playing in league 1 with experience gained playing in the old 1st division and for England. I have no doubt he will be great in time, but look at our position we DON'T have time on our side

The Plymouth game on Saturday will be Eddie Howe's 99th game in charge and when asked if he would be in charge for the 100th, Howe said...

'I don't want to be awkward but I just want to concentrate on the game that we've got, we're in a great position in the league, we've got a massive game against Plymouth coming up and I just want me and the players to focus on that.'

Intentionally avoiding it?
