Of course he has a big decision to make , but as he said , the team and club are like family to him. I reckon he might be the right manager at the wrong time for Palace.
2 years down the line he would probably be ready to leave.

Hey there guys, Cherry in peace here.

You're not wrong in your observation of ourselves and Eddie. We love him, he loves us. If not for him, we'd be out of the league and probably out of business. He picked us up and has never let go and dragged us to one of the best periods in our history.

Though I'm not old enough to remember, my dad still remembers standing alongside Eddie Howe and his old man when he was a young man in the South End. He's gone from a young lad in our youth system to one of the greatest manager's in our history, and in doing so, has created a buzz I can't remember. The football we played again today was a joy behold and something I've not seen before, even during the Sean O'Driscoll era.

The feeling inside the ground from all was not just hope, but genuine thoughts that he would choose his heart and stay with us for a little bit longer, especially with our position in the league. His actions did not seem one of a man that is resigned to going. Indeed, his interview suggests he is torn. I'm sure he sees a move to you as a potential next step in his career, but of course, he needs to weigh up whether there is enough scope and whether we are really that much worse off on and off the pitch than yourselves.

It's true to say there have been rumours about our board. We have sold both of our strikers, but I think the impact that has had on Howe himself has been played up a little. After all, we're a selling club and always have sold. We once let three star midfielders go to Burnley in Wade Elliot, John Spicer and Gareth O'Connor.

All in all, it's still too close to call. We want him to stay and myself and everyone else made that clear. He seemed genuinely moved and the laughing of Tindall (our assistant) and the way they all acted made me think there's a good chance he will stay.

For our sake, I hope he does. It's been a pleasure being a fan, turning up watching this football week after week. We've not had much to shout about over the last 15 years and I so hope this is not the end of what is probably one of our greatest era's.

Good luck for the rest of the season. I don't wish to see you managed by our king when we come up next season.

Eddie on Solent......

"I can tell you that I have a very diffcult decision to make. This club supporters, players, mean so much to me . Decision will be made over next few days. Don’t want to mess anyone around. Supporters have been brilliant and so good to me. That doesn’t mean I’m leaving. Never going to leave this club on a whim. Loved every minute of this job and when you are somewhere where you are liked and respected it’s special. I’m anguished because people say it’s a nice position to be in but I’m very torn and when they players perform like that it makes it even harder and the players feel like family. Very proud to be their manager. Fully aware out of respect to everyone I need to get a move on but mustn’t make a snap decision. The dog is going to get a few extra walks"

Implied he was in discussions with the Bournemouth board. Don't think there's anything you can read into that either!!!!

So - still looks like nothing is decided....quite yet.

Sounds like a country boy at a school prize giving. The bright lights and the big city are probably too much for him. Bournemouth v Palace is a no brainer for an ambitious manager. Bye Eddie the bus is leaving....

If he loves Bournemouth as much as he says he does then i dont think he should come here cos i have a feeling his heart wouldnt be in it.

Quite honestly, I would be very surprised if he did leave Bournemouth now after thrashing Plymouth 3 - 0. Now that Bournemouth are up to second in the league it would be understandable if Eddie Howe stays to see them promoted to the Championship, with the possibility of their New Forest neighbors Saints joining them.

Maybe we should give Roy Kene a chance now that the tractor boys have given him the push?

i think its great what he has done for your after points deduuction last season.

my personal view is their are good managers out of work and we dont have to upset your applecart ; as long as you beat charlton in the play offs

off the pitch we are much better off and Howe would have funds to be competititve in this division. Our owners dont seem like the sort who would sell players over the managers head. For me it is a no brainer and an oppurtunity for Howe but at the same time i believe that he loves Bournemouth too much to leave.

He's got a choice alright: does he stay at one club, look to promote them past their natural level and essentially become a big fish in a small pond. He's loved, been there man and boy and he has a job there for life.

Or, does he have the ambition to really challenge himself outside of his comfort zone? Palace are the ideal step up if he is ready for that. A division higher, aspirations of returning to the PL, new, young and dynamic owners and if he is ready to apply his bournemouth experiences from keeping them up from -17, a number of 'quick wins' he cam implement to galvanise the team and keep them up for a proper push next year.

If he comes, I'll be excited for this opportunity for him and us. If he doesn't then his heart wouldn't be in it anyway and good luck to him getting bournemouth promoted.

too far gone.. aint no way back
