I reckon the timing is wrong for him...second in the league is a very nice position to have the side you have built.

But if ANYONE can convince him he is right for this job and can achieve then its Steve Parish and the board.......if E.H. doesn't feel its the right time then very good luck to him and his team, and we will move on to plan B..........lets all pray it isn't Coleman !

I agree. I know we need someone to fight us out of relegation, but Howe's reign at Bournemouth doesn't seem over yet. He is so close to promotion with them to the championship, whilst palace are periliously close to relegation. Look at it this way; if we get howe, then get relegated, he will feel terrible, imagine playing bournemouth next year with Howe as our manager.

I think lets stick with Dougie till the end of the season. Hes been in the management team for a while now and surely has just as good a chance as anyone else to keep us up this year. Lets then consider our position at the end of the season. If we're still up, we will have a lot more options.

What are you suggesting we don't go for Howe just because it seems like he hasn't finished his job at Bournemouth? If he turns us down fair enough, but surely we have to consider our best interests?

I think a lot of people are missing that Burnley are likely to be in for him too, especially now that it looks like they have missed out on Lambert.

Nobody likes to think they are second choice, and it's a bigger move from Bournemouth to up North than to Palace / Charlton, but with (probably) a bigger budget and one of his old favourites there (Wade Elliot), it might be that an offer from Charlton is the least we have to worry about!

As for Coleman, I think people forget how well he did with Fulham in his 4 years there. I'm not saying he'd be my first choice, but as Manager under Sir Steve as Director of Football I can think of much worse options! Namely Roy Keane / Phil Brown (thank god he's gone to Preston) / Southgate / Sousa!

Ramblings over...

...to sum up, we're all still guessing.

Cheers, you're right there! A difficult decision to make - go all the way with AFCB and bask in the glory ...or possibly, fight a losing battle with Palace and swap places with AFCB at the end of the season.

If he bides his time he could have the best of both worlds - success (with AFCB) and all the job offers he'd ever want.

As a lifelong Palace supporter and a Bournemouth season ticket holder, I have mixed feelings. Palace are and always will be closest to my heart and I would love to see Eddie at Selhurst, I believe he is one of the best young managers in the country and could achieve great things with us. But I know what a wrench it is going to be, I have never seen such a close bond between a manager, the players and the fans as they have at Bournemouth, not even during the Steve Coppell era at Palace.

Tough decision Eddie, I don't envy you

Stay out the way of the Southern thing.

I already have utmost respect for this guy - he is obviously very loyal. If he does choose us, I hope he can put his heart into the job as much as he has at Bournemouth. Will feel sad for Bournemouth though.

Can't see him wanting to go to the Grim North.

And the other major factor, from a girlie point of view, he is the best looking candidate for deffo!

Voted best Palace bum at Wembley 1990

Journalist from Bournemouth echo states 'signs not good' for Howe staying at Bournemouth judging by post game behaviour

Post game behaviour does sound good for us, Can't think of many times when managers lead huddles on the pitch after the game?

He does the huddle every game
