I'll be very disappointed if we don't get Howe now - I don't particularly care if he ends up at Charlton, but I really can't see how it would make sense other than money. I'm sorry to say that this potential delay in appointing a new manager (whilst itself probably unavoidable) only serves to highlight the poor timing of the decision to sack Burley - we're rapidly using up the transfer window which, I think most would agree, is pretty vital to our survival bid. I didn't want Burley gone but, if he had to go, he should have gone in plenty of time for us to get someone new in for January. We're really shot ourselves in the foot here. Anyway - it's about the long term and we can't undo what's been done so the most important thing is still finding the right man for the job. Having spoken to a few mates who support lower-division sides, nobody is a fan of Hill at all - although some accept he could do a decent job. Grade A c*nt is an expression that several have used. I'd still be wanting to talk to Tisdale and Hughton first and foremost - and Hill as well as I'm not going to rule him out yet just because my mates don't like him - certainly not until I understand exactly what they don't like about him! Anyway - I remain hopeful that the bookies were right first time and it will still be Eddie Howe. Most of all, I hope that we really are appointing for the long term now and that whoever comes in gets the chance to build for the future - not 6 months between transfer windows with a threadbare squad.

I agree mattcatford. Get someone else in. Boring me and annoying me now, just a waiting game. Really dont think he is coming to Palace now, would have loved him to but think not now. Get someone in for Swansea and get some new players in!! Hughton will do for me

It probably is. Are you seriously suggesting that we should give up on our carefully selected number one choice for the sake of 24 hours though? That would surely lack any common sense.

whats annoying me is the longer we have no manager the less time we will have in the tranfer window. maybe thats what 2010 want? or maybe im being cynical again.
if howe is taking his time deciding I think that shows a quality in him because he may treat us with the same respect one day should he be a success

-This means he probably only got officially offered the job last thing Friday (at the earliest) or at some time Saturday. -Eddie Howe was in charge of Bournemouth's game on Saturday. He's clearly the kind of guy that stays very focussed and the job offer probably didn't cross his mind until the post-match interviews. -Yesterday, he was at Tottenham and by all accounts had another interview with Charlton before/after the match. He is more than entitled to hear out another potential employer's offer. -That brings us now to Monday & it's not even midday yet... Give the guy a chance and stop getting your knickers in a twist.

Real life such a drag. In 2002 I met someone who said he'd played CM01-02 upto the 2011 season and had just signed a 35 year old David Beckham for Spurs. Who says it's not true Anyway, back on topic, tick tock etc etc...

Well its looking like its accademic now anyway. Before charlton appeared yesterday i would have said he would come here , but if all the rumours are correct and its looking that way, Howe is not coming here. I would have loved him as manager, but its possibly a blessing in disguise if he has been tempted by the lure of big bucks..I've no doubt he would have done a superb job here, but 2 seasons down the line we would lose him to a bigger richer club and be left with only dreams of what may have been.. Perhaps given his age and ambition he is better off at charlton who only seem to want a quick fix rather long term appointments, it gives howe more options career wise if he is at a club who have not tied him down to a long term contract. Give it to doogie, he has started well, knows the club, and is as loyal as they come..
