9.15am day two: Howe arrives looking tired. Asked if ready for day two of the circus, he replies: "Not really."

Is this a thinly veiled statement of intent with regards to going to Charlton?

'' right lads, I've cancelled training because I need to talk to you. I know none of you read newspapers, God bless some of you can't even read, but there's something you should know. I may be leaving the club. Or I might not. If i do leave I've decided to join Charlton. Or Palace. But not Burnley because I would get too emotional managing another side whose name begins with a 'B', it would just have me thinking about Bournemouth all the time. It's hard enough choosing between Charlton and Crystal Palace for the same reason. The 'C' in their names, well it would remind me of the Cherries. That's our nickname, some of you probably don't know that.

Anyway, IF I go - which is by no means certain, I've had really good offers from Charlton and Palace. The missus can finally have that new kitchen she's been after and I can get a new PS3. To be honest, the money's so good I can easily get some new games as well .

I've done my research into the two clubs. Charlton have a lovely stadium - the Stade de Clowns, and it's right by the sea. Well the Thames anyway. And they've offered to lay on a coach from Bournemouth to get me to the matches. They're targetting Plymouth as an area of possible support and they will divert it via Bournemouth JUST FOR ME ! They told me their fan base is like Man Utd's ! Imagine that ! Not in size obviously, it's just that none of them live in Charlton.
As for Palace, well I did like the Chairmen. Both of them. One of them doesn't look old enough to own a football club, but there's nothing wrong with that - I still get ID'd every Saturday night in 'Spoons. They have a nicer kit that Charlton, but I am worried about their squad. Whoever put that lot together must have been pissed ! But their offer of Luncheon Vouchers means they have topped Charlton so I reckon I'll be joining them. Unless I stay here.

Anyway, I called you all together here to announce that I will announce my decision later today. Or tomorrow. Soon anyway.

Right, let's go and have a beer....oh hang on, I've forgotten my ID....''

Brilliant

mind you, could be a big day ahead and he should deffo consider a few weetabix, washed down with some juice and lashings of hot tea.

I'm not sure a manager who has baked beans and scrambled eggs every day for breakfast is right for Palace.

On a Monday, ahead of a big meeting with the boss, no worries, but every day?

I'd rather have an older manager with more experience of choosing a varied breakfast regime.

true dat, a young up and coming manager must surely consider the odd muesli and yoghurt combo every now and again
