Not the manager i would pick to keep us up he took a while with Bournemouth though he done well. We need O'driscoll he's style would suit us just look at what he did with no money, think what he could do with money!!!

Disagree Eagle1993. Howe would be perfect for the club; since the speculation began I have done some research on the guy and am very impressed. He appears to have a great head on his shoulders and is thoughtful and articulate in an understated way. IMO he would work very well in the Parish Long regime. My only reservation about Howe is that everything he's ever done was at Bournemouth, both as a player and a manager. You often get people who perform incredibly well for one club but struggle elsewhere. I know he's young an' all but some evidence of his obvious ability at somewhere other than Bournemouth would be helpful. Still, he's got to be seen as one of the finest up and coming managers today and, on balance, I think he'd fit the bill for us.

Keeping Bournemouth up with a 17 point deduction is nothing short of a miracle with a promotion the following year to boot. We are in a much stronger position than they were when he took over at AFC so I would have no doubt he could keep us in the Championship.

new Manager? New Signings? One player signing announcement is imminent. Get the news firstwith Palace SMS Later there's another post saying Marrow signed 2.5 year deal. Well I'd argue that is hardly ground breaking news................. Using the current situation regarding the manager to try and push the service, it makes sense as plenty will sign up. I think we'll find out more from t'interweb than Palace news though

Crystal Palace are expected to speak to Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe today over their vacant managerial post. The 33-year-old is understood to have been granted permission to talk to the Eagles by the Cherries' board yesterday and will travel to south London today for talks. All betting on the next permanent manager at Selhurst Park was suspended yesterday after an influx of bets for Howe, for whom Palace will have to pay a hefty compensation to Bournemouth should he accept the job. He has though turned down jobs at Peterborough and Southampton in the past and could also be set for talks with Burnley and Preston, who are also after new managers. Rochdale manager Keith Hill and former Leicester City boss Paolo Sousa are also believed to have held talks with Palace as they look for George Burley's successor. Bookmakers Victor Chandler have opened betting again and retain former Palace manager Steve Coppell as favourite at 7/4, with Howe third at 3/1 behind Chris Hughton who is at 2/1.

Going from this: to this: to this: in consecutive seasons, with no money, ain't bad. It's a shame Bournemouth have already sold/loaned Sam Vokes, Brett Pitman and Josh McQuoid, because you'd think at least one of them would be useful for us. O Driscoll is a good shout, but as has already been pointed out, he's said no to other jobs which would seem more enticing than ours.
