..... and to complete Howe's missery Millwall have completed the purchase of Bournemouth's young promising young striker....

11 goals in 16 games this season is a pretty good strike rate.

Isn't it great to wile away our idle hours by speculating and discussing our new manager? Like the previous ongoing sagas of Noades, David Nugent, Jason Koumas, Isale Mcleod and many others it really spices up this site. The reported sightings in Sainsbury's Car Park over the years reads like a Who's-Who of the great
and the not so good in the football and entertainment industry. Be it Eddie Howe, Sean O'Driscoll, Steve Coppell, Ray Wilkins or a complete outsider I'll be ever so thrilled - always provided that it isn't Dennis Wise.
And if the new incumbent proves not to be the Messiah and we do get relegated - what the hell, it's all part of the Palace roller-coaster that keeps long serving supporters who remember the good old days in Division Three (South) hanging in there.

I agree. I'm really looking forward to the announcement, probably more than any in reent history. The power of the internet I guess.

I know one thing, whoever gets the job will have to go some to make me feel the disappointment I had when Warnock arrived. Yes I know he did a decent job for us but I wasn't sorry to see him go.

I am still very optimistic about the future of the club - whatever happens over the next 5 months

the dignified don't even enter in the game

That was set up a while back and was a deal too good to turn down. He went to them on loan in November with a contract to go permanent as soon as the window opened. General view is that, while sorry to lose a striker, they paid an awful lot of money for someone who had only been playing 1st team since we sold Brett Pitman at the end of August. We've got more coming through from our youth side - look out for an 18 year old by the name of Danny Ings who made his home 1st team debut for us last weekend against Brentford. He's looking hotter than both Brett and Josh.

I may be grasping at straws but I'm hoping this is good news for us keeping hold of Eddie. Exciting defender we have on loan from Spurs:-

I'm sure Harry must be talking to Eddie about your manager's job and I can't believe they would have agreed to extend Smith's loan for the rest of the season if Harry thought Eddie was about to depart.

I'd have no problem other than a tinge of disappointment if Eddie Howe were to choose to stay with you. However, if that crook Redknapp had anything to do with it I'd be gutted.

Realistically though, the extended loan you speak of probably depends far more upon a brown envelope than on Howe's future!

My concern is that he is young for a manager and doesn't have any Championship experience but if he is the next PALACE maanger I will be more than happy.

Out of Burnley, Preston and us, we are favourites for Howe based on our geographical position - he can feasibly commute.

However, I'm going to make a prediction - he's going to stay with Bournemouth. He's spent most of his adult life at the club, he's worshipped - he's not going to give it up to join a struggling yo-yo club with a history of sacking managers.

I'd love to be proved wrong, though...

Preston are out of it - they've appointed Phil Brown

The crowd is outstanding, and especially with the penalty after 44 minutes it was clear when we came out after half-time the welcome would be pretty loud and not too friendly. Crystal Palace wanted to strike back, so that was all clear. This is a wonderful place to play football - Jurgen Klopp

Eddie Howe just on BBC South today news saying would be really difficult for him to leave, hometown club means everything to him, his actions have spoken over the past couple of years etc etc, just wants to concentrate on game with Plymouth at the weekend!!!1

He was at their training ground soaking wet....Hardly dressed for an interview..I think his heart will rule head!!!

I don't think we're likely to have been handing over brown envelopes - even if it was Harry and Kevin Bond involved. Remember, they're both ex-Cherries managers. We know what they're like. Allegedly

And as much as i would like to see him with us i think the relationship that you have with him is special and unique in todays cut throat game and would have nothing but respect for the guy if he stayed with you.
