The constant avoiding giving a definite answer in this article would worry me if I was a Cherries fan.

Just listened to it here: [Link]

I think the transcript gets it wrong: it says

'I have tremendous affection for the club, for the fans, for the players and it would be very, very difficult to leave.'

Whereas I hear:

'I have tremendous affection for the club, for the fans, for the players and it will be very, very difficult to leave.'

Or is my hearing playing tricks on me?

Nope your right he does said will be very very difficult to leave.
Personally that sounds to me like a typical interview where that happens when someone is leaving after there next game.

Yeah your right, he does say it will be very very difficult to leave. Sounds like he could be on his way

I would imagine that this weekend will be his game to say goodbye to the Bournemouth fans and players

Just a rumour that's flying around the TAG offices.

Lets hope so. I've listened to the interview twice and im not really sure. Clearly it will be difficult for him to leave the club he loves. But unlike previous times where he has turned jobs, on this occasion he certainly is not wanting to comment on his long-term future.

I see the Bournemouth fans are planning an Eddie Howe day to convince him to stay. Can't do anything other than credit them for being so committed and supportive of their manager and if we do want him and he turns us down, it is that sort of thing that would mean I wouldn't begrudge him doing so.

On the flipside, to generate that strength of feeling, I find myself hoping that he has decided the time is to move on and the we offer him the right kind of challenge for the next stage in his career.

It's a challenge for any manager coming to Palace and if he does come all credit to him for taking it on as it would be easier to stay put and maintain the Cherries push for promotion. If he stays then at least one set of fans will be happy and good luck to them.

I've a hunch we'll be getting him, the interview for me sounds like a goodbye and he'll be making the most of Saturday to say so to the fans.

Fingers crossed. Would be an exciting and progressive appointment.

True but I'd sleep a little easier if we had an experienced grizzled No2 who knew their way around the block as well.

Sorry if this has already been posted. Been offline all day but just heard that Hughton was interviewed yesterday, Howe will be interviewed tomorrow.. And Marrow was £50k.
All good news!

Aye. Though Howe has his own way of doing things, to an amazing degree of effectiveness. It'll be interesting to see what happens in regard to the coaching staff, should he get the job.

Don't worry though, Terry Venables has stuck his CV through Steve Parish's door...and the office cat promptly shat on it.

Agreed, he has done wonders at AFCB, with no money and in really difficult circumstances. I reckon he could unearth a few lower league gems but I worry that he has little or no experience in the transfer market and only a fool (oh no we sacked him.....) would think there was no need to strengthen the squad and we need experience to balance out the raw talent we seem to have bucket loads of coming up via he academy.

I also did not realise he was so young, we have just signed a front man far older!
