Eddie Howe - Staying at AFC Bournemouth - or is he?

I reckon, Burley's sacking notwithstanding, that Parish and Long might be an attractive chairman. I just reckon they're different to most football club chairmen, and that it's probably refreshing for a young manager. I predicted a few pages ago he'd stay at Bournemouth. But I'm now changing to say I predict he will come! CILF? I agree with you. Despite our placing in the table, I think we're an attractive proposition - never underestimate the London factor, either. Howe can be at the forefront of Palace's revolution, I hope he sees it that way.

Can anybody please tell me why so many are happy with Eddie Howe. At 33 he should still be playing. He has no experience, and experience is what we need at the moment. We've missed out on Phil Brown, but, Paul Jewel, Big Sam, Alan Curbishly, Gareth Southgate, Chris Coleman, Ray Wilkins are just a few. I would prefer Dougie Freedman to get the job over Eddie Howe. Or is it the same old thing. We will NOT pay the wages for players or managers of any quality. DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's right - you don't win anything with kids! Oh, hold on a minute ....

I wouldn't say we missed out on Phil Brown, more like thank heavens he didn't get it. Paul Jewell - been out of work a long time and on the cusp of being regarded as an ex-manager. Allardyce - deluded if you think he'll come here, he thinks he sjould manage madrid or milan, not a team 2nd bottom of the championship! Southgate - has never managed a team into an upward trajectory Coleman - Just because he's managed in the PL does not mean he's automatically a good manager Wilkins - a coach, not a manager. Big names dont mean success, and football management these days it seems is getting a younger and younger mans game - you're struggling for work these days once you get past 45, definitely 50. The maodern game chews you up and craps you out by then - better to have a hungry young manager then a burned out has-been. I'd like ideally a Coppell / Howe double act but seems Steve is totally worn out with the game. A true pity.

Oi, this fella is the talk of the football league, surely many decent players from League 1 and maybe League 2 would be happy to play for him as well as unattached players. We need some lower league lads to boost our side as it is. All the above managers you mentioned will be more expensive to hire as it is.

According to Eddie Howe's interview this morning, he was taking training today and doing the same tomorrow and he admitted it would take something special to tear him away from the Cherries. Are we being led down the wrong path ??

I think his comments this morning were standard practice for a manager who might just know Saturday will be his last game with Bournemouth.

would prefer hughton by a million miles-would be extremly worried if howe came in. I know neither of them have vast experience of being a manager but Hughton had been coaching for a while been a manager for a season in the championship (did fantastically well) and steadied a rocking ship. Howe has no experience in the championship- yes been good for bournemouth but not fantastic. Sorry doesn't fill me with confidence.
