I wonder if they're related to my brother-in-law's parents. They have a similar line in rational argument, and also sold their house when they retired, lost the money at bingo and online gambling and now they live in a caravan.

I thought to myself "Oooh, now there's a couple of sharp cookies with contentious opinions. Can't let the masses see these or there will be a revolution. Now, what is the best way to deal with them? Surely just delete the posts and ban the users? - No, that's just what they'll be expecting. What I will do instead is move their posts into the busy thread discussing the exact points they had attempted to make in detail, being visited by every user on the site. That'll keep them hidden" So off I went. I hadn't banked on them being smart enough to start another thread though. I was defeated and there is no way whatsover that they can be silenced. I've learned a tough lesson, I can tell you. I'll just try to live on, day by day...
