Met up with Wiz at Watford the other week. Hadnt seen him in about 10 years but he's still a lad. Used to drink with him in the Goathouse along with Johnny Vine,Alex, Tommy, Dave Matthews, Derby Bob, Manchester Bob, Mick Parker and me and my brother Steve. You didn't have any worries at away games with Wiz around

I know Wizz form years back, last time I saw him we had a pint up at London bridge when we last played the Clowns and he said If people of our age group dont know me then there not real Palace fans, he's got a point.
He's in the we all follow the Palace book,

Proper lad from back in the day.

My only really hairy experience was at the first FA Cup semi at Villa Park against Manure. We'd parked on the wrong side of the ground and had to walk through the Utd fans which wasn't pleasant - they were sore over the Cantona ban and blamed us for him getting sent off.

We covered our colours and got to the ground ok, but on the way back we got clocked by some of theirs, one of whom came up behind us and kicked me in the back. I turned round to square up but we sere surrounded by hundreds of them so got away fast and found the OB. Mr Plod refused to escort us so once again we got our heads down and walked very quickly to the car.

In the car, turned on the radio and heard about Paul Nixon (RIP), then had to drive through the Utd throng and only relaxed once we were on the motorway heading south.

We went to the replay too but this time found the right place to park and avoided the scum. Always hated them ever since.

Nothing would've given me more pleasure. I fear, however, hospitalisation might have been the outcome which would have taken some explaining to the missus.

We beat Millwall 3 nil and i was in the wrong end.....cuz I arrived late. I cheered once without thinking and then shut my gob for the rest of the game as some angry and very menacing Millwall stood behind me telling me what I was going to get after the game........

I got out unscathed somehow.

The only time I really got hurt in connection with football was by Palace fans who jumped me for my new scarf as I walked home alone. It was a home game and a friendly I recall against Wolves mid 70`s . Wish I could meet those F...s individually even today.
Real Palace scum and yes we had plenty of scum to. Yes I am real bitter about it being fans of my own team.
