Don Rogers scoring against Everton on his debut in '72 and then seeing it on MOTD later that night

beating Millwall away in '78 - 3 nil & we could have had 6

Ian Evans having his leg broken by Best

& more recently, Kuqi coming on against Norwich (away) - getting shed loads of grief from the home fans & then scoring the only goal of the game in injury time, followed by his trademark swallow dive

Supporting the mighty CPFC since September 1971

Norman Hunter being sent off for Bristol City at Selhurst Sept '79 and 30,000 people booing and shouting 'you dirty f&^K8$' as loudly as they could as he trudged off.

Watching the Palace season video of the 1990/1991 season, Ian Wright scoring from pretty much the half way line against I think it was Wimbledon.

And Neil Danns thinking he had scored, and ran of celebrating before falling head over heals over an advertising board.

i remember a player called lawrie craker, playing for watford against us, there was a tackle, he stayed down, and started shouting and pointing at he's leg, the mob on the half way line (we were standing then) started waving at him plus a bit of abuse thrown in, but we soon found out it was serious, and he had in fact broken he's leg, not sure if he ever recovered from it, poor fella.

First home game was in 89 ... random memories from then onwards ...

Kolkka's "dive" against Liverpool that earned him a straight red.

Gareth Southgate getting number 4 against Portsmouth in the 5-1 thrashing ... he collected the ball from just inside his half, looked up, winked at me (in the Arthur, down the front) ... went on a run ... sweet volley ... when theball hit the back of the net there was a micrsecond of silence before we all erupted!!

Freedman getting sentoff against Huddersfield in last home game 97, then destroying Wolves in play-offs.

David Tuttle breaking his leg/ankle in the "away" against Wimbledon ... was in the Whitehorsr and it was RIGHT in front of me.

Oxford away ... 97/98?? Was behind the goal when the Oxford keeper came out after half-tim (we were 1-0 up) we shouted for him to let a couple more in ... he replied 'alright' ... we won 4-1!!

They say hard work never hurt anyone ... but why take a chance?

I recall Steve Kember, during his playing days, when he returned after his spells at Chelsea and Leicester.

We were at home to Notts County and Steve swung a low ball in at goal and it appeared to have gone in,in fact it went under the side netting, but the Ref signalled a goal.
Steve approached the Ref to explain that it went under the side netting,so he changed it for a Goal Kick.
I was in the Arthur Wait, before it was all seater, and could see it clearly wasn't a goal.
A few days later I saw Steve and he said he got a right rollicking off of Venables,as he was captain and should have kept shtoom.

How could he?

On another occasion, must have been about 1960,Johnny Byrne was in the centre mid-field playing towards the Whitehorse end.
He seemed to have the ball for ages, waiting for some movement up front to lay the ball off.The forward players appeared static and Johnny wasn't best pleased and was gesticulating for someone to make a move.
Nobody appeared to,so he just sat on the ball in disgust!!
It was amusing!!

The 1980/81 season when we had 4 managers. We beat Boro 5-2, Norwich 4-1, United 1-0, Southampton 3-2, had the Clive Allen 'no goal' against Coventry and were relegated.

Not sure what the record for the most Palace players scoring hat-tricks in the same season is but Flanagan got 3 against Southampton and I think Clive Allen got 3 against Boro both before the end of October. The first 3 results that season were 0-3 against Liverpool, 3-4 against Tottenham and the 5-2 against Boro meaning palace had a record of P3 W1 D0 L2 F8 A9

Various defeats against Wimbledon with the 0-5, 0-4 and 0-3 being particularly painful

Michael Hughes (?) knocking out the referee

The Inter Toto cup game against Samsunspoor being delayed because so many people turned up (only Palace really can't cope with an attendance of 11,000)

Chris Coleman scoring a very slow goal V Chelsea in the coca cola cup (if i remember rightly), the ball sliding in the mud and just over the line.
I always remember him turning to the away fans and shouting "f*** off!!!!"

I was at that game, with my elder brother who is staunch chelsea and was a very sore loser saying they lost the game to the mud.

Hahaha... they had a shot that was going in but got stuck in the mud and was saved too.

Gordon Hill playing for Derby, probably 1980 being shown a red card in front of the William Hill advertising hoarding. As a 12 year old I found that amusing.

Palace v Fulham when they came out to play an extra 5 minutes as the ref had blown up early.

2-1 v Liverpool at Anfield. With about 8 mates from Liverpool so was sitting in the main stand. Palace scored their second. I jumped up, a guy behind me jumped up and that was it in the whole stand!
