I loved the last two Download Festivals I've been to. But as a gig I would have to say CKY in London, the energy was great, the drink was flowing, it was just pure rock and roll as its supposed to be!

When the chips are down, these... these civilized people, they'll eat each other. See, I'm not a monster. I'm just ahead of the curve.

As I've said in a previous post, Oasis at V Festival 2005 was the greatest gig that anyone could ever experience. Truly surreal and incredible. I'm seeing Arctic Monkeys as part of the NME Tour in Manchester next month. Whether or not they can challenge the mighty Oasis I don't know but I'm sure the Monkeys will be incredible.

Bought my ticket off ebay for the strokes in brighton! I've got a feeling this could be one of the best I've been to.

1st. Queen at Tiffany's in Purley, now it is a fitness centre, during the "Crazy tour" in the early 80's. Freddy came out on the shoulders of a bouncer dressed as Superman. You could walk up to the stage and shake the groups hands in that place it was great!!

2nd.Rush at Wembley Arena 2004.

3rd. Led Zeppelin at Earls Court in '75 and again at Knebworth in '79.

4th The Who, The Stranglers, AC/DC & Nils Lofgren all on the same bill at Wembley Stadium. Must have been around 76-77.Running battle after it I remember, Mods, Punks & Rockers kicking the sh!te out of each other evrywhere you looked. Good old Harvey Goldsmith always got the right mix to make money.

5th. ELO Wembley Arena in the 80's.

Worst. Alvin Stardust at Fairfield 70's.

This is a very difficult decision to make.

I've seen some quality from Buddy Guy, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Gary Moore, Coldplay (Richard Ashcroft supporting), Oasis, REM, Lenny Kravitz, Athlete, Chemical Brothers, Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler and V2005 which was just fantastic - Prodigy, Oasis, The Streets.

You know what? They're all different but the atmosphere at V was just a class above.

Off to see ordinary boys next month as well

Strangly would have it that it was Shane MacGowan and The Popes St Patricks Day 2005 Shepherds Bush Empire.

Don't even like the Popes... but that gig was something else!

Followed by The Pogues December 2005

and then Billy Bragg Dublin - June 2006.
