I was in the Old Stand yesterday, thought i saw an older/thinner version of Clive.

Last time i saw him was way back in the day. Everyone else had been booted out and were playing football in the field behind the massive terrace at Fulham. We had to stand back to back to fight them off until the OB came in and took us away. Good old days!!

yeah, saw him at selhurst station last season, had to double take as hadn't seen him for 30 years, but recognised each other, hes a handy poker player apparently!

On the subject of pork - and in relation to this thread - I remember at Gillingham the disgraceful behaviour of the plods where they attacked a few Palace fans on the way to the station after the game in an attempt to get a reaction. All they got was a look of astonishment from some very innocuous and harmless fans who picked themselves up and went on their way. I remember too the laughing policemen at Leeds in 1976 who sat on their horses and were highly amused as Palace fans were attacked by Leeds supporters. It opened my eyes to the majesty of the law at an early age.

I have to add my line to this, a bobby spoke up for 2 of us who chose to walk across a wasteland from the station on the way to the game and post game did stand their ground between us and the tykes (a tyke is another word for a dog or cur (from Old Norse tika, meaning bitch), especially a small mongrel terrier used for catching rats etc. From the common sight of a Yorkshireman owning such a dog, the nickname was commonly applied to anyone born and bred here.) but suspect that was because we had the upper hand

The pub had a lot of it's windows put in after that, and a few in the pub got a kicking anyone remember Junior?

that was an ugly boxing day wasn't it, west ham fans chickened out of their trip to chelsea descended in unexpected numbers at orient and brawls lasted 90 minutes

I used to love the smell of beer wafting out of the wooden cellar doors of that pub when I used to walk to the shops with my mum as a kid. I know it's not violence-related but I can still smell that sweet, hoppy, nostalgic aroma.
