Hull City name change protest City Till We Die

It would be interesting if a Bluebirds supporter who wears a red Home shirt could explain why he/she didn't buy the Blue alternative away shirt. I suspect they want to show best non-fragmented visible support for the team in the stands and have been painted into a corner knowing protest would make no difference to the decision of a superstitious egotist.

Whilst I disgaree with the name change, the owner is very diiferent from the streotypical "foreign owner" If memory serves me correct he spent millions on the university, gave Hull KR money for renovating their stadiom, money to the local hospital etc. all before he became involved with the club. He has contributed to the area over many many years. Most clubs have had at least one name change and/or relocation during their history. Is it such a big deal? For me, Palace becoming London Eagles or something similar would be awful but are we all guilty of looking backwards all the time? the dignified don't even enter in the game

Most clubs have had at least one name change and/or relocation during their history. Is it such a big deal?

Crystal Palace Eagles is a different name and given in imitation of customs in the USA. Now many of them are our cousins and they have many good points, but we should keep our own traditions, being part of our identity. I support Hull all the way in their struggle, but the things they must never do is to use the expression among themselves, to chant it, to write it or to use it in their supporters club.

Well said, John. I think it's asking a bit much to ask fans to boycott matches and frankly it wouldn't work. But their campaign appears to be well organised, committed and taking the targeted opposition to a number of platforms. I think opposition fans could show vocal support for their campaign without betraying their allegiance. A well scripted chant adopted by those fans at all matches could show important solidarity.
