did any palace fans listen to clive allen on talksport during the arsenal v spurs game yesterday? he slagged off Theo Walcott for inciting the crowd!!! im sure fans will remember this is the same clive allen who caused a near riot in a qpr v palace game years ago, by scoring against us and running to the palace end to give it to the fans!!

Thats true,
But saw him score a cracker at Coventry,

Only to hit the stanchion at the back of the net

And a great goal was disallowed.
Result was???.

Obviously caused a near riot !

At the end of the day Walcott's behavour was hardly "Abusive" but clearly there are those who will deem it "Inflammatory" and "Ill-advised".
We wouldn't like it if we were 2-0 down to Brighton and one of their players made such a gesture !

No different from the Brighton goalie Kusack winding us up after they went 2-0 up against us last season!

Supporting Crystal Palace since 19.45 on 29th August 1972 (approximately)!

I was at QPR for that game.

He ran the length of the pitch to give all the Palace fans the W....r sign.
It caused a riot. Fans on the pitch trying to get at him bottles thrown the lot, he was a complete knob

rub a dub dub who's buying the next round in the Pub?

I was there as a kid and am sure Cov then ran to the other end of the pitch and scored whilst our players were having a go at the ref and if I recall correctly we lost 3-1.

Saying that, I've just re-read the original quote regarding Cov and Clive Allen and was sure it was at Selhurst?

Look if you are prepared to give it to these players, for which I am one of those fans, you have to be prepared to get a bit of stick back. If we get the occasional gesture back from the players we are abusing so f--king what. It really annoys me how some fans can operate in this fashion and when they get a hand gesture or such like back they want to run off and tell there mums or worse still the police.
Now in Clive Allens situation running the full length of the pitch to call us wan-ers he deserved all the abuse he got.

Was at the game, & it was the only game I've ever been to, that they kept in, the home fans after the final whistle.

What a day at Loftus Road that was.

Plastic pitch, Venables and Clive Allen scoring a last minute winner.

The perfect storm.

Even normally very peaceable Palace fans were at it that afternoon.

No..was at Highfield Road. Freddie Sears did a similar thing for us at Bristol City a few seasons back but was disallowed and we ended up losing 1-0!

We love you,we love you,we love you and where you play we follow,we follow,we follow, cos we support the Palace, the Palace, the Palace and thats the way we like it,we like,we like it...WOAH,WOAH,WOAH!!!

A winner is a dreamer who never gives up...
