That would be the same Clive Allen who was managed by Terry Venerables' agency, and who left us to join qpr moments after Venables did!?

Taking the bungy jump since 1964. Never to see John Jackson in a shirt again

Sorry to see Lee Hills go, did we ever see Alex Marrow? We did January 2013

Saying that, I've just re-read the original quote regarding Cov and Clive Allen and was sure it was at Selhurst?

No..was at Highfield Road. Freddie Sears did a similar thing for us at Bristol City a few seasons back but was disallowed and we ended up losing 1-0!

Bloody hell!

Was at that game an all,and the 9-0 .

gotta stop these thoughts im getting?

Sorry lads,
But this topic has opened up sore wounds that have never

Was at the game back in the day.
I sometimes traveled around the country with the notorious ICF (WEST HAM)- when my mates let me)and I did witness some tear ups!!!

But still to this day, I cant remember a worst case of a pitch invasion(and I was at Luton v Millwall!!FA CUP '85) and rioting and fighting at a game and afterwards!!- caused by allen!!!!!

ALLEN IS A DISGRACE - POT- KETTLE -BLACK!!!

What a day at Loftus Road that was.

Plastic pitch, Venables and Clive Allen scoring a last minute winner.

The perfect storm.

Even normally very peaceable Palace fans were at it that afternoon.

It was still one of the best atmospheres at a Palace away game - packed in that s***ty little end

I was on the pitch but then again so was pretty much everyone else.

I was at QPR for that game.

He ran the length of the pitch to give all the Palace fans the W....r sign.
It caused a riot. Fans on the pitch trying to get at him bottles thrown the lot, he was a complete knob

One bottle just missed his head... he soon retreated!

And the FA cup "goal" v Leeds at Selhurst that was handballed as well... we didn't get a goal or a penalty!

Ever since that day in 82 I've hated Clive Allen because of this incident, we needed that cup run so bad back then because things we're going pear shaped at the club, it was back when the FA Cup meant something and I'll never forget the hurt of him poking in the winner and running down our end to celebrate in front of us.

So if he did say this on talksport he is indeed a hypocrite and should have his gonads crushed in a vice!!!

In my opinion Clive Allen was the best striker of the ball I have seen playing for Palace. The disallowed goal v Coventry was the turning point in the season. As for QPR the most hatred I have ever felt.

That's a fair point, that's how I remember it, it was early in the season, but we'd just started to turn it round after a bad start, wasn't the cov game the week after allen had just scored a hat trick in a 5-2 win against middlesbro? And to have the cov game taken away from us knocked the stuffing out of the team I think......and the easy way out was to all fcuk off to QPR!!!

We were in that corner when Allen 'scored' and even after all this time watching it again it's still hard to believe it wasn't given.

When Clive Allen arrived at Selhurst, in the very strange swap deal for Kenny Sansom, I met him as he turned up for his first game. He had been asked to park in the street because the guy in charging of parking didn't recognise him and obviously knew nothing of his transfer. It was well before kick off and parking was easy, just behind the ground. I also parked there and we both tried to get through a gap in the fence to take a short cut through the car park. Both of us got intercepted and turfed out! He could not have been very impressed at the welcome he got at the club and perhaps this coloured his judgement of it!
