After the Hull fans sang we're City till we die I was disappointed with our fans response. For those who were not there,we sang "your not City anymore".I thought a nice gesture would have been a brief chant of "City City as a form of support for their cause.

Just think, if we were taken over by a rich American for instance and he wanted to rebrand us to "The Crystal Eagles",how would we like it if opposing fans sang "your not Palace anymore"

I hope everyone over the age of thirty agrees with me,what do you think?

The banner showed the support.

The rest was clearly just banter and there is zero chance that I would be chanting 'City'......

I didn't join in as I'm with you on that, it didnt take off too much to be fair,
I'd say half the support in the aw felt for them and the other half wanted to wind them up a little bit, it was all good natured

I hope it causes unrest and sends them down (one less relegation place for Palace to worry about). On the other hand I hope it doesn't happen as this would set a precedent and it could be a name change circus out there with all sorts of rebranding going on. I think any club that wants to change their name should start in the bottom league again and sacrifice their place. I completely disagree with the Hull chairman when he came out and said it's his business and he should be allowed to do what he wants. It is still a sport at the end of the day and they founded with a set name, so why should they be allowed to just change it.

A lot of teams have changed their names, albeit in bygone days ! Man Utd used to be Newton Heath, Arsenal were Dial Square and West Ham were Thames Ironworks ! What's in a name change ? !!!!

Before the game & after the game then yes, show empathy.

During the game we get on with supporting our team, our plight & get the banter going.

Can i just say the name Tigers is there nickname anyway so its not like there being called the leopards etc, its like SP and the board calling us Palace Eagles, so when we were singing 'Tigers' they prob thought wow this crowd are a pretty well rounded bunch of fair guys ;-)

DJ John Peel once said: "Supporting Palace has a certain cult value, like pretending that some Peruvian rock band is the best in the world."

Its our job to big up Palace, not empathise with the opposition.

I feel sorry for Hull, but try to concentrate on getting behind our lads to inspire them to stay up.

Not exactly disagreeing, depends how you define empathise. I like that we are a friendly club and people from (most) other clubs feel welcome. There is money in that for the club. Make ours the place everyone wants to do their one away game per season because it's exciting, noisy, welcoming and interesting. Like we love going to Peterbro.

There is benefit in it for us. One of the best thing about away games is talking to other supporters in the pubs etc. and I find generally we are thought of as 'alright'.

What I really like is that we are starting to become opinion leaders, campaigning for what is right is something we can do well. We aren't thugs, we have a big voice and mostly we are aligned. Let's stand up for whatever is right, rather than just bury ourselves in some very petty rivalries.

Weed and Scum obvious exceptions.

Personally I like Hull and wish their fans all the best.

Wow, are you ever missing the point. This is our history, my family is now at 4 generations of support. You don't lightly sod about with stuff that's taken so long to build. The move from Glaziers to Eagles was done with loads of (tacit) consent, it was the spirit of the age. If we became Selhurst Eagles I would not be happy.

Next you'll tell us you've thrown away your childhood teddy bear.

'Hull Tigers' is only a marketing or trading name, they will always be known as 'Hull'. It's not as if the 'Hull' is being removed and of course 'Tigers' is their nickname.
Even keeping their same colours !

I had a look on their forum after the game and quite a few of them felt it ok to look down at us with a billy big b*llocks type attitude. A couple of them even saying we are no better than a dirty sunday league side.

Ok so it's sour grapes, but if this is the type of attitude they have towards us and maybe other clubs then why the f**k should we be showing them our support?

Without Allam's money they wouldn't be in the position to be so patronising.
