An apology for what exactly? The weather!? As should the government take the blame for all these floods!?!? Get a grip. Nobody is responsible for mother nature, or the current effect it is having all over the country.
I'm sure the stadium itself offered alot of protection to the pitch, so the weather inside the ground was probably alot different to the weather outside it. I'm also guessing it's a pretty big decision to call a game off, for whoever has that authority.
So please do tell me exactly what you would like an apology for, and from who would you like it..... Your mum, for creating such a fool??

You're obviously well balanced got a chip on each shoulder. Glad I live in my world not yours. Fool I might be but a least I know who my mother is.

I agree with rizzo la. Fan safety was being thought of here at the forefront. I see there being no need to apologize, as it's common sense. Today's society expects everything done for themselves
without thinking for themselves.

Look at that Malaysian Everton fan! [Link] The lad travelled from Malaysia ffs!...and not a sign of ungratefulness was in his tweets after....and you expect an apology? Bloody 'ell. Get a grip indeed son.

The weather was appalling at 4.30 when I arrived at Goodison. It was far better at 7 when it was called off. Fair enough if it had been called off in the morning or at somewhere between 4 & 6, but I think someone has got a bit over zealous on H&S.

Somebody needs to apologise for this thread.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Even if it had been called off earlier in the day 4/5pm most people would have already booked the time off work/begun their travels, so it wouldnt have made much difference really would it?!?

Obviously feel bad for everyone that made the journey, and definitely sympothise strongly with them, as I have a few mates who were stuck on a mini-bus for 15 hours, only to see the first half of the Arsenal V Man U game in a pub that wasnt even in Liverpool before turning back. But I'm sure they'd rather that than somebody being seriously injured just because people wanted the game to go ahead.

Having spent more than 7 hours travelling we would have missed kick off by about 15-20 minutes - with hotel booked and time already taken off work I guess, in the cold light of day, it wouldn't have made much difference if the game had been called off earlier... At the time I wasn't at all happy like most people that had travelled. Having watched the Everton CEO video I get the reasons... We should all just move on... No need for any more apology although it would be a nice gesture if someone paid for our travel for the rearranged fixture!

Has anyone seen any sign of an apology from everton for the palace fans who travelled today because i haven't

Official statement: 'Sorry for the weather. We should have known that allowing it to p1ss down with rain on top of gale-force winds would have meant the match couldn't go ahead. We'll not let this happen again'.

Is that statement from Everton or from God?

I arrived at 2.30 with the wind very strong.
By 5.00 it was extremely powerful and they were starting to close parts of the city off.
I had some roof tiles fall in the city very close to where I was walking.
I arrived at Kirkdale station around 7.10 and the wind was so strong upon exit that you had to stop at times just so not to get blown over.
It did cross my mind about health and safety then 5 min later I heard the news.
£200 night out and that doesn't include the match ticket plus 2 days annual leave.
Oh well I hope I've enough leave left for the rearrange fixture.

Everton would have lost a lot of money last night by calling this game off.

Every member of staff would need to be paid as they would have been at the ground already preparing meals, stewarding etc and the cost of the food/pies that will now be thrown away.

I don't think they need to apologise to anyone as it wasn't their fault.

The ref did not use any common sense, surely he should've taken into consideration the distant fans and players alike had to travel.

It was windy all over the country and the North west in particular was going to be very windy indeed that was the forcast yesterday morning.

surely the ref could've seen the weather forcast and called the game off at lunchtime, hardly rocket science.
