How am I embarrassing for giving some one who does not have a ticket mine. It would be embarrassing if I told him to try the burger's we all know our Pies are delightful.

No. Back in the old days, there was no segregation and the crowd was made up of fans of both teams (and neutrals) standing or sitting together. Then the dark days came along, people started fighting rather than showing respect to their fellow but opposing fans, and segregation was introduced. It'll never go back to the non-segregated days, because there will always be a sizable minority of fans who prefer the confrontation to the sport. Would you really want mixed stands? It would completely kill the atmosphere created from noise and chants and remove a lot of the humorous banter and songs that go between sets of fans. Some people go to footie on their own - are they going to sing and celebrate as loud if they're amongst opposing fans? Probably not. Would not be a good move but will never happen anyway. Plus being sat right next to a ManUre to$$er when they score would just be bloody horrible. The Whitehorse Lane terrace up until 1980 was mixed. It kicked off occasionally but not that often. The only thing I will say about it is,Utd fans are not known for their good behaviour. I don't think they are as bad as they used to be i.e "Cockney Reds". But They won't be respectful......No chance. always a Norwood boy, where ever I live.

People are complaining about segregation, yet football is undisputedly the most popular sport in the country. This is partly due to the tribalism that exists and the sense of identity towards your club. I favour Palace over England, as I feel more connected to Palace. If you start mixing supporters together, this would be lost, there wouldn't be as much camaraderie. There's nothing like a good away day, with fellow Palace fans.

People are complaining about segregation, yet football is undisputedly the most popular sport in the country. This is partly due to the tribalism that exists and the sense of identity towards your club. I favour Palace over England, as I feel more connected to Palace.

If you start mixing supporters together, this would be lost, there wouldn't be as much camaraderie. There's nothing like a good away day, with fellow Palace fans.

Agreed Kermit. It was the easiest end for me to get to coming from pollards hill but great atmosphere and I got just the occasional kicking.......
