Those abusing Rooney are an absolute f*cking disgrace to our club.

Was so embarrassing to see that & right at the start of the game too when he hadn't done anything wrong.

C0cks.

Don't be so precious.

Coin and bottle throwing - wrong.

Shouting a bit of verbal is fair game in my book. It's been going on since I started watching palace back in the 80's, so not sure why it's such a shock to people.

Suppose it's the new premiership fans we've obtained this season that get shocked by anything and everything.

New fans? I have been on this site for 10 years and a fan since for the last 20 years so I don't qualify for your dim response.

It was embarrassing watching the abuse.

I wonder how many of the coin throwers will be w*nking themselves silly if Rooney is in-form during the World Cup.

I would guess very few, especially if you cast your mind back and his comments coming off the pitch and out of his spud faced pube encrusted hole after the Algeria game, to people who had spent thousands and probably given up jobs to watch him disinterestly drag his fat sweaty pasty multi millionaire carcass around the pitches of South Africa

As for coins - meh..it happens and worse happened back in the dark old days of the 70's and 80's - as has been pointed out CCTV will probably pick people out and they will get banned so why some of the over the top handwringing posts I dont know.

Although it does seem its given ammo to those on here about our support who seem to have some agenda

Anyhoo, will it be the end of football as we know it ? - of course not.

Far more damaging to football is the object of the copper being hurled has been given a contract worth 300k a week basic....

And that's Rooney's fault is it ? He asked, Man Utd paid..who wouldn't take it in the same situation ? It's SKY who makes that sort of ridiculous salary possible. And SKY also makes it possible for us to sign people we wouldn't have a sniff of otherwise. Think on people ! (And I'm no fan of the shrek challenged fella, believe me !).

Back to the thread and this may have been said already but haven't read all the posts, but we've been hailed by many as the best supporters in the Prem this season. Throwing coins at Wayne Rooney or anyone hardly show's that to the wider audience does it ?

Good post. I couldn’t be arsed to read through the predictable bed wetting on here about such a minor incident. Coin throwing is of course not good but it doesn’t need blowing out all proportion and as for verbal abuse, surely Rooney gets that every week?

I don’t have too much of a problem with him myself. He did gob off in the heat of the moment in South Africa but if he does well for England this summer I’ll be proud of him, not holding my breath though.

Which is exactly the point - what has killed / will kill football quicker - isolated and small acts of 'hooliganism' and a 2p piece bouncing of his pubic wig or the obscene monies paid to him and his ilk...and Sky / Meejia turning football into a TV show / soap opera and no longer a game for that matter ??

Well my point re the 'isolated' coin throwing
was more the reflection it gives of alace fans wo have been so good this season, it only takes that happening once, getting press, and it's that's what people remember.

As for the money side, yep, can't disagree with that but as I said, It's made us richer than we've ever been as a club so we cant have it both ways.

OK everybody, calm down. We're after the same thing aren't we? Stick together and before anyone sings an insulting song, throws a coin or shouts an abusive, embarrasingly, cringeing comment, remember you are representing your fellow supporters. Even the underlying strand of humour cannot hide the hurt of some comments. If you had lost a realation could there be anything of humour I could say to make you feel better? Doubt it and so do the vast majority of those who support Palace. But we all back the old club. If you feel angry and frustrated desist from saying anything, don't put your foot in yer north. Don't embarrass your mates. Pleaseeeee.

Should the club be threatened with a fine over the objects thrown, Our defence could be that were trying to help prepare United players for their visit to Olympiakos as I am sure that they will get 10 times more aggression, missiles, abuse there than they did at Selhurst.

This site is priceless sometimes, it always gets me through a Monday.

I don't think people realise that the way you lot act on here is the internet equivalent of the things you found so embarrassing in the ground.

Shocking... but hilarious.

To be fair the support from the HF throughout the season has been amazing the banners were excellent today.

However why o why would you embarrass the club in this way. looked like a bunch of Wall fans trying to act hard. I'm guessing it was HF as that's were they usually sit/stand.

Please don't embarrass our club like that again.

Rant over

Why assume it's HF?

It was my dream to play for Palace and to make my debut. I've always played for the club so if I'm playing here, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

About time this thread ended hey ladies? It seems to have turned into a slagging off match between the supporters. It also seems that the HF seem to be escape goats for any borderline behaviour. Of course throwing coins is wrong as it's a waste of money throwing them at the hooker f***1ng w@nker Rooney (Obviously has some mummy issues going on). I never saw any plane gestured & I was next to B block. I never heard the away London supporters as they were drowned out all game long.
So why don't we end & refrain from starting just stupid threads & get on with supporting the team instead of playing keyboard warriors against each other.
Personally my biggest shock of the day was we never beat them, I was positive we'd be 8 nil up by half time! I guess watching 3 home game wins in a row increased my expectations somewhat!

What on earth are 'escape goats'? I take it you mean 'scapegoats'! Is this really the level of English that we expect on here now?

In any case, the coins were thrown from the HF area - you cannot deny that - just as they were against Watford a year or so ago.

Back to the question of someone 'conducting' the HF - seems an incredible waste of money to buy a ticket and then not even watch the game, but perhaps that tells you all you need to know about the 'ultras' - that the football doesn't really matter.
