I agree that our players should not instruct the ballboys to slow play. I hate cheating of any form.

Mourinho should not have got involved... he is not supposed to leave his technical area after all.

It appears that his intentions were honourable, but he should leave matters like that alone. He hasn't learnt from the kerfuffle at Villa.

Only a minor incident and should not detract from a famous victory!

Think Mourinho said that John Terry's dad was going to sort him out in the car park afterwards.

Haha! Excellent!

Azpilliwhatsit was steaming to grab the ball off the boy and who knows what might of happened. I think Jose recognised the possible dangers and was right to interject and possibly diffuse any potential danger. What could of been a nasty situation was handled very well by all concerned in my opinion.

Shouldnt Mourinho be on an FA charge for leaving his technical area? I hope the Fourth official reported him for that, as to me its unacceptable for that reason alone, and compounded by the fact that he allegedly threatened a minor. He was obviously pissed off as he knew we had the points by then.

There are no excuses, Jose!

:-)

Yet again it's one rule for some, one rule for others.

Holloway got fined for a lot less.

His team weren't good enough. Had nothing to do with the ballboys. The kid was just doing what he was told. Don't have a go at him, have a go at the players. But he's obviously not afraid to confront a kid.

Time wasting is annoying but let the ref deal with it. The ref should have had more control and Jose should stop acting like the world revolves around him.

Oh well, 1-0. Cheers Chelski. Same again next week please lads.

As much as I don't want to stick up Jose he did the right thing and common sense prevailed as he prevented any situation accuring.

The incident turned out to be a storm in a teacup - but , in the future, there could be a nasty incident involving flying fists.

Mourinho has no right to take matters into his own hand, but our players were out of order in asking the lad to delay returning the ball.

IMO, it's pretty poor if adults try to coax children into their cheating/ timewasting ways.

It would be inappropriate for the ref to get involved in any practical sense, but he should certainly add on time for the delay.

Steve Parish and Co should take a firm line on what is acceptable. The welfare of the ball boys is the club's responsibility.

The FA should also take a clear stand on the matter.

As per his (unjust imo) charge for the Villa game, all he was trying to do was diffuse a situation and give the kid a bit of life advice.

He shouldn't be berated for doing so.

Having watched it back on TV it's obvious that Jerome & Puncheon were telling the ball boys to take their time giving it to Chelsea, which is not in the spirit of the game.

Reminds me of the Watford play-off semi final 2nd leg at theirs when we were 3-0 down from the first leg; their ball kids had been given the night off and everyone else in the ground told not to give the ball back to us under any circumstances, even leading to some handbags in the dug-out at one point!

Anyway the manager has got no right to interfere with ball boys. If there's time-wasting the ref should deal with it, not Mourinho or any other manager. If a player can't stop himself from assaulting a child then they deserve punishing too, a la Hazard at Swansea last season.

Ahem....

Should imagine the ballboy will tell the story of when he met Mourinho forever.

Don't think there's anything bad about a kid being taught not to be unsportsmanlike.
