We've seen some dross of refereeing displays this season but Lee Mason must come close to one of the worst.
I was adamant that Cameron Jerome was "hacked", as BBC Radio 5 Lives commentary stated, down for a certain penalty. Not given.
I wasn't too sure about the Yannick one until I saw it on television later. Definitely a penalty. Not given.
What with the handball not given at Newcastle just getting ridiculous !
Then there was Yannick's and Jason's bookings in the first half. Having watched Goals on Sunday, there were two tackles by Southampton players against Newcastle which went unpunished near enough exactly the same as theirs.
They got away with so much at Selhurst it is no surprise as they are the darlings in the Premier League at the moment with so many England players and must be looked after for the World Cup.
Just so much inconsistency as highlighted by Damien then bowling through the back of Torres and not getting punished.
Not much to complain about the Dann booking and maybe not Marriapa as he was the token booking for the small amount of time we were wasting, especially Jason coaching the ball boy, but other clubs who do it go unpunished.
But Cahills two footed lunge should have been at least a yellow card if not a red card.
It only follows on from Masons performance at Hull vs Man City where he starting running to the centre circle after the Boyd dive over Harts leg. Did he not think it might kick off after this incident ? Obviously not !
We just have to get on and play our game as we know a lot of the officials don't want to lose their Premiership place so suck up to the top clubs.
Also as I put it some ref's have a "safe game" when it comes to us. Give us free kicks in our half but nothing near to the opponents penalty area.
Rant over. Thanks.

Too many on here with a Ref. Persecution Mania!
Overall and so far, I think we've had a fair 'rub of the green' Plenty of leniency shown when we have made dodgy tackles and a pen or two that might not have been given.
Things usually balance out and several other teams have suffered far worse rough justice than us.
If we stay up or go down it won't be because of a ref. having it in for us.

I don't think we have been unfairly treated, it just seems that the referees consistently are getting so many decisions wrong week in week out.
