I remember Geoff Thomas having easily his worst ever game for us when the team we were playing - Blackburn - were supposedly about to make a 3m bid for him straight after the match. The consummate professional reduced to a bag of bones.

Footballers are human and things affect their performance in a way it wouldn't a robot.

The manager is at fault for picking players whose mind is not on the job and the player is at fault for not telling the manager he is not focused enough before he picks the team.

One thing is for sure. Wilf would not have impressed TP and may have shot himself in the foot on Saturday.

I don't blame Wilf, OGS left him no choice. He was bigging him up before the game, indicating he was certainly going to score and had to celebrate. What young fella is going to have the guts to stand up then and so no, I don't feel like playing?

If every player and manager couldn't perform against ex-clubs that they still had an affection for the game would be a farce every Saturday. What makes Wilf so special - or is it immaturity? - that he is able to get away with it in the eyes of some Palace fans?

Sentimentality, that's what.

Ian Wright loved to show us what we had lost when he played against us and didn't it rankle.

I want Wilf to come back but he needs to get with the programme sharpish otherwise it'll just be an annoying undermining distraction next season with the 'pick him' v 'drop him' brigades.

Bolasie has been much the better professional over the last 15 months. That's the level he needs to get to.

Yes, Zaha is to blame, as an attacking midfield / winger for some truely terrible defending. The only time we've been that weak under Pulis was against Newcastle at home.

Hardly surprising that Liverpool put six past them.

As for blaming your own players, OGS and Cardiff have something in common. Still its ok, he won't be on loan to a championship team next season.

It shows class to show your appreciation of fans as you leave a pitch. F**king cardiff, not even the Welsh like em.

Clapped the Palace fans 'by all accounts'. I wonder if they were even there or if they have just rehashed all the other reports they read. At least they acknowledged it was a poor team performance

Cardiff City are a shambles. They lack class and judgement. Ole GS put a lot of pressure on Zaha with his pre-match comments. He also showed his lack of maturity, his insecurity. The comments were made by a man panicking.

Wilf is better off at a club that has any sort of spine. In an ideal world we'd bring him home.

The more they rubbish him the cheaper he will get when the window is open and he is put up for sale by MU.

Truly the only person to blame for Wilf last weekend is OGS. If he knew anything about his players and specifically Wilf he would not have started him or put so much pressure on him to perform.

Is Wilf immature, yup, is he sensitive, yup, does he have love for Palace, clearly...and as a Manager OGS should have seen that and had the common sense not to play him. Everyone else saw it but him, and that's the difference between a good manger and a bad one.

I am loath to critique you given your post a couple of days ago but, even within your own logic, this doesn't make sense.

You said the player was at fault for not telling the manager he is not focused enough. And my point is OGS had made it impossible for him to have that discussion.

If they watch the 3rd goal again they'll see why they're a joke and the defence is a shambles.

And the really skillful/creative/goalscorers/flair players often do not make good managers in England. Mostly it's the ones who had to work that bit harder as players and find another edge over opponents other than raw skill/ability.
