Gus Poyet is a very good coach, where ever he has coached those clubs have enjoyed considerable success, he helped set Swindon on the road to recovery, and was instrumental in winning Spurs their first Silverware for 10 years, he also picked Brighton up from the depths of Div 1, to promotion and the Championship playoffs in less than 4 years, he also beat our own Dougie Freedman to the Outstanding Managerial Achievement Award 2012.

So he's a good coach, he's misfortune is to get lumbered with Paulo di Canio's dross.

One bought Ignacio Scocco. The other knows what he's doing.

He also signed Vergini, who is one of the worst players I've seen in the Premiership in a very long time.

Sunderland needed a cool head to come in and stabilise after the lunacy of Benito Di Canio's reign, in much the same way as we needed someone to sort out the mess once Holloway left. We appointed correctly, they took a gamble and it failed.
