Why the animosity towards Freedman, he has a duty of responsibility to report this if true, he would himself been in trouble if he received this info and done nothing, and it had been found out.

Yes, this. Also realising that receiving this information was in breach of the Premier League’s non-disclosure rule (B.17), Freedman might have simply wanted to alert Cardiff so they could investigate and cover their backs. He might not have had any intention of landing Palace in the mire. Just a thought.

Crock of s***, IF Douge did do what's being said it was to get at CPFC2010

I hope he didn't, I could forgive him (just) for looking after his starving family but to go out of his way to stitch us up..........................

Isnt it just a little bit too convenient that - entrance stage right - comes a Palace villain living up to the part ?

Boo kiddies, boo !

You'll be forever in my family's memories and it was an honor and privilege to play and lead in the red and blue

My thoughts.

1. If Dougie is behind this (in so fas as it was he who alerted Cardiff) then I would be vastly more disgusted with him that I was when he chose to leave Palace. I can take a guy who wants a new job because he doesn't get on with his boss, but a guy who simply interferes with a club he professes to love really crosses a rubicon from which there's no going back for me. I hope this isn't true because Dougie is still my hero, but if it is...

2. Whether it's ethical or desirable or not, I would guess this sort of thing goes on every single week in football given that pretty much every team has employees who at one time or another worked for, and has mates at, the club they're playing next (that's the nature of the transfer market). I would guess that around 50% of manager's on any given weekend think they have insight into the other team's line up in advance. Big deal.

3. Caulker has already said this sort of thing has gone on at Cardiff all year. If that's the case and our game was declared null and void then we could immediately demand that every other Cardiff game suffered the same fate. That's not an option for anyone. Besides, if Caulker has know this has been common practice then presumably so have lots of other people at Cardiff yet they are only worrying and complaining about it now? The bottom line is that the crime was the leak, not the request that Moody may have made. Therefore, it's Cardiff's problem and they who should be penalised for failing to control their employees. If you shoot someone but say "he asked me to shoot them", Mr. Tan, I think you'll find it's you (as the shooter) who will end up being punished. But ask yourself this question: if your employees are leaking critical information left, right, and centre then why do you think the culture you have instilled in your company is one where such disloyalty is rife?

4. Tan is a clown. At the risk of being a xenophobic little Englander (honest. I'm not), he's acting like a third world hick who thinks he can chuck his money around and get whatever brand of justice he needs to work for him. Someone needs to pat him on his greasy head and put him out to pasture. t***.

Good post Syd, had me laughing out loud at points

The part in bold is emphasises the fact that players/mangers stay in touch as this text ended up on DF's phone, so someone, probably quite a few people at Palace keep in touch with him, as you say it's the nature of the game.

You two must be seriously staunch Dougie fans. If there is any truth in this, it can only show that the man is a poisonous little weasel.

Dougie is no hero of mine. I used to like him but now he is just someone who used to play for and (briefly) manage us. I’m not saying that he wasn’t trying to land us in it, but everyone seems to be leaping to this conclusion when there just could be another, more innocent explanation. Do we even know how much of this story is true anyway?

What "more innocent" explanation could there be for DF telling OGS that he'd received the text except to try to f*ck us over?

That's the nuts of it. They're saying (if it's not b*llocks) that he told OGS, not the FA. If he was just "doing his duty" he'd whistleblow to the FA.

So Cardiff say they knew Palace knew the side, but they still keep the same side and were Gutless and poor. Think OGS should be sacked then

As for DF, he took the backroom team then if believed tries to cause more issue for us.. Gone right down in my eyes. Touch of jealousy me thinks.. Left Palace saying he stood a better chance of getting in the PL with Bolton, but has done nothing

Nothing surprises me with football and sadly nothing surprises me with DF anymore

Legend as a player I am glad he isn't around anymore to be honest

I guess we should not jump to conclusions but so far I must say it does not look very nice!. I really do wonder if Doogie would do such a thing to us fans who always gave him a square deal for his efforts as a player and as a manager. While he may have a beef with Parish he does not need to lash out at us. I just hope it turns out that Doogie is not in any way involved as I would like to remember him as a great player for us.

I'm sure Dougie asked to receive this message out of the blue.

If our game is declared void, we should offer to replay the fixture at a neutral ground, and just go out and tonk the c**ts all over again.

How s**t are Cardiff, well they conceeded five goals against what was then the lowest scoring team in the league, who'd managed only six goals away from home all season.

And they gave us the wrong information. Thats the real joke here, they claim we had an advantage but the information that they sent out was wrong.

Its like luring your enemy into a trap, and then bringing a knife to a gun fight.
