Seems a nice chap, but fast becoming a dinosaur. His tactics when chasing games was like under 14s football. Bung a few strikers on. Couldn't drill the defence properly, on all accounts doesn't do enough work on fitness or the basics in training either. I bet it was a few drills then a game every day with IH.

Never a premiership level manager.

Can we stop all this Holloway arse licking. I don't believe for one minute he was going to stay either he left or Parish sacked him he was gone after the Fulham game and he knew it. Fact is the promotion under him pretty much covers up the fact he was a failure and on par with George Burley at how delusional and tactically inept he was.

Yes - like outhinking Poyet and Zola in the playoffs!!

Why can't you just acknowledge the contribution made by so many, including those no longer here like Holloway, Freedman, Ramage, Phillips.

This is the time to celebrate not vilify!

I am not being funny but Zola and Poyet are tactically inept as well we just had Zaha that day.

I find it hard to believe that 3 teams could have managed to get into the play offs with tactically inept managers......

We had the better teams mate. That's why, Bloom had invested in expensive higher end championship players. Watford had players from one of Italy's better sides and we had Wilf, Ward, Yannick, Muzza and Jedi. All of which came from Dougie. Ultimately he did what was asked of him but the fact is he is a s***e overrated manager who uses the same bulls*** excuses at every club he goes to when things go wrong, Which is all the time.

When did he ever use bulls*** excuses with us? He did exactly the opposite, admitted he wasn't good enough to keep us up, and resigned. And you can't really say things go wrong all the time when he's at clubs. He took Blackpool to the premier league, almost kept them up, then the next season got to the play off final again. He then managed us to promotion.

I'm not saying he's a brilliant manager, because he's not really. Almost f**ked last season up, and then looked completely out of his depth this season. But he deserves more credit than people on here give him for helping get the club where it is now.

The Bulls*** excuses that he used at QPR, Leicester, Blackpool and now us. "I fell out of love with football I need a long break"

2 Months later:

"I have bought into what this club want to achieve I know I am the man to do that, and we will play great football"

Following year:

"I fell out of love with football I need a long break"

Imagine in any job or walk of life being managed by Ian Holloway .

Then think of being managed by Tony Pulis . Who would you respond better to ?

I know my answer , and yes I am in the 'if someone had not done a poo we would not have beaten the weed' camp.

Listen to them, it's a joke.

If you put all of Holloway's critics together and looked at their contributions to Palace it's obvious that they haven't done even a bean compared to what Holloway did for us.

Thank you Ian Holloway.....From a fan who actually knows how to appreciate someone who did this club proud.

For the play offs, he deserves a lot of respect and gratitude.

Just out of his depth in the Premier League.

Almost = should have . just could not bring himself to adopt different tactics when they were relatively safe , got caught up in the wonderful attacking football hype created by the media and went down.

His best tactical decision for us last year was dropping Ramage for Gabbidon , so credit for that.
