Are there plans to build a new stadium?

Very difficult one. Closing a stand at a time will not only me a nightmare for fans wanting tickets but the loss in revenue wont help either. To do the whole ground will take at least 10 years imo.
Moving to a new stadium is a no brainer. Now we have more cash am sure a few brown envelopes here and there can boost our chances of building a stadium at the delapedated C.Palace park.

Ideally we should aim for a new 28-30K seat stadium
at CP Park. Must be possible to design so is compact and not sterile. After all is the fans who create the atmosphere. No loss of capacity/revenue at SP while building and when finished sell off SP for a nice price.

All this "spiritual home" stuff about CP park evades the issue of how fans lving South of the park will get there. Getting to Gipsy Hill or Crystal Palace station is a pain in the butt. Selhurst may have its faults but having three stations nearby is a big plus. This is especially important given that so many fans are ex-Croydon or South Norwood.
If we locate somewhere away from a mainline station then it has to be in an area that allows for dispersal of traffic, ie: major road links. That would suggest places such as A23 or A22. If that is the case then maybe we should be looking for locations at places like Godstone or some brownfield site on the southern M25?

And Selhurst is easy to get too? Hearing moans about it from fans both home and away isn't untypical.

Crystal Palace park is our spiritual home whether you like that or not. It is where we started and it's the natural place that layman fans first looking for Palace expect it to be.

I always thought that CP park had excellent transport links.

This could be solved by filling in the corners one by one (say the two either side of the Holmesdale)thereby increasing the capacity without closing a stand and once done add a second tier to the Whitehorse and fill in those corners too and the capacity without effecting the fans greatly is increased by 10k or so.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

It has Gipsy Hill and Crstal Palace which are great if you are heading there from Vctoria but are crap from East Croydon or anywhere else on the main Brighton to Lndon line. The park is well served by buses to the parade but I think it would be necessary to run special buses from Central Croydon. Possibly there could be special trains such as is done b Brighton to get people to the Amex.

I suspect that one of the priorities in the redevelopment of Selhurst will be an increase in corporate facilities. More exec boxes make sense for a Premier league clb and are a huge money spinner.

I'd imagine plans will now escalate, ideas will be further developed and avenues will be explored. To be honest we don't know how in depth the club has explored the possibilities.

Whatever we are looking at, I would imagine nothing will happen for at least another season, in terms of at least committing to a proposed plan. Just because we've stayed up doesn't mean we can suddenly commit to a huge investment like a new/renovated stadium.

I thought that the plans were being made for replacing a stand at a time, Main, Arthur and then building corporate boxes over Sainsburys. Finally filling in the corners.

It needs to be made multi use, for extra revenue, with multi story car parking.

I think it will start next close season. With modern building techniques each stand could be done quite quickly. The foundation work could start without disturbing the main stand during the season, then demolition and assembly of pre made parts.

Whoever is in charge I hope they consult a good acoustic engineer. Atmosphere needs to be designed in. It doesn't have to disturb the locals and can be made to focus the Holmesdale sound towards the Whitehorse end, for extra intimidation.

I'd like to see a Crystal Palace design for the exterior, (without the eagle)

The sports park would be horrible, no good pubs nearby and no transport.

Selhurst has been our home since the 20's I hope it is spick and span and has some silverware to display for the centennial.

Yes it is easy,3 stations all within a 10/15 min walk to the ground. With easy access to London Bridge,Victoria,East Croydon.

Compared to many we have a good variety of options to get to SP

Our spiritual home? Please. We've never played there since any one of us has been supporting Palace. Our home is Selhurst Park, and it's where I hope we remain.
