I posted something about this a few weeks into the season but got shot down a bit about if true it would be a sad view of our club. However now we are safe I stick by what I said so it may invite more stick but sod it...

I honestly think what we have done this season is up there with the greatest achievements in the clubs history. Granted, we haven't won any silverware, and we may end up finishing a bit lower than mid table, but when you put in to context the squad we have it's astounding. When we finished 3rd in the top tier, the FA cup final, the ZDS Cup win etc (which I guess are our greatest achievements) we had some great players. No disrespect to the current team but we don't really have many stand out players like that now and our budget compared to the other teams plus how football at the top flight has moved on from our former glory days makes the achievement all the more outstanding.

I thought we were dead and buried but we have a real 'team' and that's what's got us safe. Massive results on the pitch and, in my opinion at least, one of our greatest ever achievements. I wasn't against Pulis when he took over but I wasn't enthused either. However the geezer is a magician and like many other I now love the fella. Well done all and thank you for such a great year.

Well, it is an achievement indeed. When you look back at our start to the season, many of us thought we were out of our depth. Also, it's the first Premiership survival for us. Even though we have stayed in the top flight in the past, that is a club record. As is the 3 away wins in the Prem. So definitely one of the greats.

It does feel odd though. With only position in the table to play for, I find myself wanting more. No relegation battle. No promotion battle. No administration battle. Not even a sniff at Europe.

Still over the moon though. (to use a well worn footballing phrase )

Defiantly the best season we've ever had when you look at how much todays game is influenced by money.
unless everton get champions league or chelsea win it, liverpool are the only team that has had a more successful season than us when you take into account wage bill, expectation etc which is amazing when you think about the start we had.
