If I hear one more person say 'talk/rumblings/rumours of him not getting on with Parish' I may just lose my mind !

The only talk is people consistently saying that - so stop saying it !! Has no basis or foundation and unless you're a BBC journalist or work for the mirror why would you ?!

Is right p1ssing me off...

It's no secret there's a degree of animosity between them. Pulis had an incredibly close relationship (possibly tender, yuck what an image with the chairman at Stoke. He was sued by Scally at Gillingham for claims he tried to blackmail him. Don't think he got on with anybody, fans certainly, at Bristol City.

I think he's a class act and the best boss we've had since Stevie, but he's a tricky f***er to deal with, that I'm sure...

He seems to get on with our fans. We sing about him.

Or did you mean that he did get on with Bristol fans?

I based my opinion, and subsequent reasoning into the January transfer window being the reason things are all fine and dandy on the following, taken from an interview in the last few weeks on TalkSport:

"“Our relationship was a bit tetchy at the beginning but I was getting used to Steve and he was getting used to me,” he said.

“Since that period it’s been fantastic. Just look at the last transfer window and the players we brought in.

“I wanted to bring those players in, and Steve went and got them for us. There was no messing about. He’s been fantastic.""

So whilst the media like to whip up a storm in a teacup, there is some truth behind things.

Fair enough - but from what is said there it seems they are fine ? So hopefully that will be the end of rumours of discontent !

Although CPFC2010 is the owner, SP & Co are first and foremost true supporters of Crystal Palace. And u don't need to be an Einstein to see that TP is doing a remarkable job.

Those quotes should put anything to bed.

At the end of the day, personal opinions are secondary. As long as TP delivers, and SP backs his manager, personal relationships are almost irrelevant. That said, quotes above and some other ones regarding Pulis praising the board for what they've achieved so far, seems to suggest they are working well as a unit.

I suppose the main point of my original post was that if we are to discuss Pulis' long term future, any notion of an ongoing rift should be immediately ruled out.

Fact is. In order to be successful you have to disagree. If Parish had a yes man in charge we wouldn't be as successful. Small Disagreements create a better working relationship.

EEP you are spot on with that remark.

These are two tough alpha dogs who do not easily roll over for a tummy tickle. They both state their opinion and those opinions may well differ from time to time - then they will growl at each other.

However, they both know what the other is capable of, they now, surely, have a high regard for each other. TP will understand the boards long term objectives and the board will know they have them man in place to achieve them.

Hopefully this will be a relationship that lasts at least until 2020.

Of course I'd love him to stay, who wouldn't and personally I think he will for at least another year. He won't want to become known as purely a journeyman manager - the Red Adair of the PL.

On the Newcastle "rumour" mentioned near the start of the thread, sure a big club etc etc but if he thinks working with Steve P could be a bit tetchy at times imagine what he'd make of Mike A!!

Thank you Mr Pulis, hope you are part of the continued CPFC revolution

It would be so Palace to just be on the brink of something great and blow it. I fecking hope he stays, it'll be be another heartbreak if he leaves now.

Tis true, you don't have to get along to have respect for each other. They could bicker like a pair of birds out on the piss in Barking but as long as they pull their weight together in the right direction the club will move forward. Parish is not the type to sack a manager bar Burley (Who really Was Useless) Pulis is not a journeyman Manager. The man has morals and is loyal so long as he has the backing of the owners and supporters. Could not bare to have another yes man at the club. Holloway's, OGS's, Pardew's make piss poor managers.
