Well they can't win the title on Monday now, which should take the of heat of the situation. Hope those without tickets haven't blown too much on travel

Still might have our fans showing "Class" and singing YNWA When it is rather embarrassing and makes me want to punch them.

Quote Flash at 02 May 2014 8.11pm

I follow a lot of threads to see what's on the minds of fellow Eagles fans but I'm not a frequent contributor. Having followed this thread I can't help but think that there must surely be better targets for fury than:
- Willo's preoccupation with the "standing" debate (someone even called for a moderator to block him - snitch or what!)
- the character of Liverpool supporters (I seem to recall a humble reaction to being defeated by us in the FA cup semi final and a respectful response to our supporters when we sang through the 9-0 defeat at Anfield)
Come on, we can do without infighting and gratuitous insults.

I think you may be referring to me and, if so, you are badly mistaken. I was asking for a "block user" function, which many messageboards have, where one user can block the posts of another so they don't see them. This is very different from asking for someone to be banned from the site outright, which I haven't done.

So your "snitch" accusation is inaccurate and somewhat hypocritical bearing in mind your call for an end to "gratuitous insults".

Yeah true some Nigel who lives in a summerhouse full of Palace programmes on the isle of Wight or somewhere like that is my bet.

Interesting discussion in my local last night, (my local now being in Liverpool since I moved here last August - although I remain a staunch Eagle).

Apparently a number of Chelsea fans have bought tickets to our match in order to duff up the Liverpool fans around them. Should bring all the joys of the old days of football hooliganism into the 21st century.

Not sure where they get this info from but it sounds like utter rubbish to me. Scousers playing the victim already and nothing has even happened yet!

If the Chelsea fans were so desperate to "duff them up" why not just head to Trafalgar Square where they will all be having lunch?

I explained that it was just a topic of conversation in the pub. Apparently Chelsea fans have been bragging about it and it's being talked about on the RAOTL forum. They're not playing the victim at all, (an unnecessarily unpleasant comment given what has happened to them in the past,) nor were they looking forward to a brawl.

They're just looking forward to a good match - lots of respect for Palace and our fans.

What about the things that have happened as a result of their behaviour in the past? As others have also said on here, trouble seems to follow them around somehow, and no I am not referring to the events at Hillsborough.

Do you have a link to the bragging on these forums? Can you not see that it wouldn't make sense for them to come to Selhurst Park (where they would struggle to get tickets) just to "duff up" Liverpool supporters?

Hi eaglesally.

If you read some of the reports on this link, which describe the actions of the Liverpool away supporters last night, I wonder if you still think they were "just looking forward to a good match - and (had) lots of respect for Palace and our fans." ???

[Link]

Perhaps a bit of an eye opener, and realisation why people resent them?
