Who would have thought that Penfold would have ended up managing Fulham.....

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Yep, there were many attempts to make him a laughing stock (which, admittedly, I laughed at), but he came impressively close. Had they hired him instead of Meulensteen, they'd have been fine.

This. Strikes me he did a pretty good job and came very close to making a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

The interesting one has been OGS, who was hugely touted and has looked the most clueless manager in the division for the past six months.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

The media love to call him the baby faced assassin!
In management terms he looked as clueless as a baby!

If Ian Holloway truly 'fell on his sword' then we have a lot to be thankful for, as the CPFC2010 were prepared to stand by him and even go down with him at the helm (which is very commendable), we would have missed out on Pulis and almost certainly a 2nd season in the Premiership and the money involved.

This may have taught the Board a lesson about being ruthless in the football and many other clubs will be able to look at this example for future justification in firing someone early

Without doubt TP's Premiership experience was a major advantage that OGS and Magath didn't have....but lack of experience hasn't seemed to work against Poyet

Sunderland have only just scraped safety by the final game of the season, whereas we're sat pretty, mid table, safe with something like 30 games to go. Poyet had nowhere near the impact as Pulis. You just don't seem to see the togetherness or comraderie in the other squads that you see in ours. That's down to Pulis.

As soon as he gives Speroni that new contract then I will love Pulis eternally.

I think Magath will leave Fulham, as will some of their players. Just goes to show why the board at Palace made the right choice and got Pulis in.

"Look at that. Accident blackspot? These aren't accidents! They're throwing themselves into the road gladly! Throwing themselves into the road to escape all this hideousness!"

It certainly would NOT have been commendable if the 'Board' allowed Holloway to continue to manage a team that was losing regularly and was cut adrift. Can you imagine the fans furore ? I really do NOT think this would have been allowed to happen - at the end of the day survival was the primary objective and the 'Board'could not have just sat back and done nothing. It would have been a dereliction of duty.
