Im still trying to come to terms with the fact I left in the 76th minute, I sit in the upper tier and there was two liverpool fans up there really enjoying themselves at the time, I would of loves to have seen their faces at 90 minutes!

I think they are called "Friendship Scarves". The reason behind the idea of them is to promote "solidarity" between fans of the opposing clubs, or some other rubbish like that. To the blokes selling them, it is a way to earn some cash as they would expect people to buy them as a souvenir of the game.

This season I have seen people wearing Palace/Watford scarves from the play off final. I can understand that because it was a huge occasion and is a way of showing that the wearer was there on the big day.

Saying that, though, for the Liverpool game, I couldn't see that many Palace fans would have bought them. I would bet that day trippers and Liverpool fans who sneaked into the home areas would have been the main buyers of them.

One guy tried selling one to my 12 year old grand daughter. She said she would have bought one, but she didn't have any scissors to cut off the "horrible red half" of the scarf"!

Maybe they ought to start making Israel - Palestine half/half scarves for people that just enjoy the thrill of a good conflict.

There were a fair few 'tourists' I saw who on entering the Arfur went pitchside for the obligatory photo op and held out the Liverpool bit and hid the Palace bit.

Stuffed the camera back in their rucksack and then went and asked the stewards in faltering pidgeon English (the scousers as well as foriegners)where to sit

I kicked them all in though so dont worry

Shame there were any but by the same token we'll have plenty at Fulham so it happens.

3 in front of me at the back of the AW - they didn't celebrate at all so they got largely left alone. One left at HT (I imagine a combination of the noise, lack of view and the general growing irritation at other fans who weren't so respectful got too much)

The two left I would guess were mother & son (in his 20s) . The celebrations as we got our goals got more and more intense and he may have got jostled about a bit, but fair play in that he didn't react - they left on full time unscathed.

Those that did celebrate in the AW that I saw didn't last long. I think the perception of Palace pre-game was of how things used to be. Think they expected to turn up and take the piss - I am glad they couldn't.

Hope people can resist the urge to get quite so many tickets to away fans next season, but in a way I am glad there were a fair few in their support who got to witness what we are about this season close up.

Those who sold their tickets missed a truly incredible atmosphere - and it's a shame they didn't sell them to Palace supporters who could have experienced and added to it.

There were also "neutrals" in the AW again. Some sections have definitely been bought up by companies providing a touristy "see a Premier League game" type of thing. I dare say we've gained a lot of fans from them this season given the way they look when they walk in against the way the look when they leave!

Good idea. I expect half-and-half Russia/Ukraine scarves and Turkey/Greece "1000 years of hatred" souvenirs would go down well too.
