Needs excel.
This was my prediction of where we would need to pick up points this season game by game in order to get 38 points and avoid relegation. It shows the predicted points against actual points and gives a good indicator of where things were going well or not so well.
Shows clearly that Chelsea was the turning point that put us on track to survive - but you knew that.

I can't resit looking at that XLS as it makes such happy reading.

Chelsea onwards:

Predicted 3
Actual 16

Before Chelsea we had 28 points with a predicted 3 more before Fulham, i.e. 31 if I have this right. A win at Fulham would have given us the 34 to just creep over Norwich at 33 assuming they were to loose to Arsenal this Sunday.

What an exciting Sunday that would have been, one which I am very, very happy to do without.

What I find particularly interesting about this season is that we have lost only one less that Norwich and two less than Cardiff.

Draws are worth s*** in this league

the dignified don't even enter in the game

Aftre the Newcastle game we were on course to finish on about 37 points - too close for comfort.

Be great if someone could repost the points prediction thread done in August before the Tottenham game.
