Leaving the game 15 minutes before the end to catch an early train (from Selhurst Stn)to London, seeing some of the Palace Women's team on the platform, news filtering through of what was happening (accompanied by an almighty roar from a mile away), and watching the closing minutes on someone's iPhone Sky Sports subscription.

I'm not even joking. I have never left a game early in my entire life and it is already my biggest regret in life.

The game just looked dead and buried by 75 mins. We could barely get into their half...

Unlucky Jonny

Listening to BBC radio5live :
1. Alan Green..........talks through every Liverpool player by name...and only manages 'palace' or 'the Palace player' when we do something in the game.
2. S. Clarridge ......(I think).......after our fight-back.....saying 'it's a privilege to be here!'

I do not normally enjoy radio commentary of CPFC games live.....but , I must admit, this game will stay with me for a long time because of my surprise and satisfaction generated by the events from 75 minutes onwards.

Alan Green is an arrogant complacent elitist t*sser. He wants us to know he has seen it all. He commentates from the point of view of a football insider who has lost all contact with the fans' point of view. He is also a big-club groupie who is bored by teams like us. He is the worst kind of BBC commentator, smug, wrong-headed, totally up himself. If Green did not know the Palace players' names that typifies everything about him. He must have hated coming to Selhurst and hated it even more when he had to watch Palace's come-back, which ruined all his prejudices and preconceptions. Jonathan Pearce by contrast knows and understands what it is like to be a real fan. He is excited by what he sees and conveys it too. Unlike the wretched Green, he is a fans' commentator.

Added to all that, Green is actually a Liverpool fan, although he likes to keep that fact close to his chest.

Well, just to balance things in a very small way - the Guardian's chief sports photographer was there, and delighted to be so 'cos he's an Eagles fan..........

My one and only memory is on the 76th minute the wife yelling at me down the phone to go pick up the kids from school, despite my complaints of "but palace are on the box!", and then 15 or so minutes later having my youngest check the score on my phone...
