Interesting thread. I feel that when we got promoted, yes, we were a championship club still. Bit as soon as Pulis and his coaches came, he instilled a lot of premier league quality into the team, even though a few of our players were evolving it naturally anyway. I agree that in hindsight, because a lot of our players played in the championship last season, we can be seen as a championship club, but we're not now we're a premier league club with some naturally developed premier league quality. It can only get better with new additions too.

I think this comment has hit the nail on the head. The Championship players have developed into Premiership players. We are now guaranteed to finish in 11th place. I was thinking that it would only take a small change in luck for those 1-0 wins to become 1-0 defeats, but Tony Pulis has built a career out of being lucky every year, which leads me to wonder how much is it about having a positive mentality - he manufactures luck!

We are not just a premiership club, but a good premiership club. we have beaten two title contenders. I think Bolasie, Gayle and Ince can cause a lot of problems, but we need a good striker or two. we were lucky with injuries, but had some decent backup.

Chelsea and........?

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

In fairness to him, coming back from 0-3 when we didn't even need any points felt like a victory.

Just a shame Gayle's last shot was wide. Imagine if he had scored a hat-trick and we had won 4-3...

As the OP this was very much the point I was trying to make, along with the fact that all this success has effectively been achieved with a team made up of players from the Championship, and who went toe to toe with title contenders.

I do think we're a Premier league team, which has been achieved by making players better, not buying in loads of Premier League experience / mercenaries etc..

In TP I'm sure we have the right man to add the right players to the squad (as already proved in January) to strengthen further and take us forward.

Clearly the players are Prem players who last season were playing in the Championship...

They say the table doesn't lie.

11th in the league with 44 points would suggest we're a credible Premier League team.

The gap between the 9th team in the Premier League down to the 5th in the Championship is not that much. With Leicester's form, they likely wouldnt have been relgated with the team they have.

Your point I think is that we probably only have 3 or 4 players who would get regular playing time with a top 6 club. (Bolasie, Delaney, Dann, maybe Punch)
