Ha - Steve B is not supposed to talk about contracts.

Good man. He is such a fan squillions or not.

We would have been fvcking insane to let Jules go.

Let's not get carried away just yet. He was always going to be offered a contract, he might not sign it though if he gets better terms elsewhere.

Well that's cheered me up.

With Jules it won't be money that decides it. He wants to stay; family settled, just opened his own restaurant, loved by the fans, won POY and due a testimonial. He won't even expect to be guaranteed his place. He will just be expected to be treated with some dignity - a two year contract and the opportunity to compete on a level playing field with Hennessey. If he is offered a year contract and told Hennessey will start the season as first choice and he will be understudy, then I would expect him to go!
And who would blame him?
I can't see Pulis being that foolish; he has no reason to risk losing the fans over this. Fair enough, if Jules lost form or was injured and Hennessey seized his opportunity fans would accept the change, but Jules has earnt the right to be shown respect.

The terms of any new contract offered to Jules, would include removal of facial hair, one would hope.

Could see a return to the pony tail, a big risk... In the end though, its always about money. At his age, he'll be looking for a deal based around his career prime, and for four or five years I'd have thought, something to cerment his and his families future.

Who needs money when you've got your own restaurant in Purley? Boom!

Seriously though, he's rooted down. Owns a local business, owns a home, has been attending and playing drums at the same church since he came to us from Aberdeen. He's a commitment man, and that will outweigh the bigger paycheck elsewhere to compete with someone like Mannone for starting time...As long as CPFC2010 give him something worth committing to!

Jules has been reported as saying he will kiss off any offers from other teams to stay at Palace. If true, anything above insulting should be fine. I hope the team don't try to squeeze him though.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

Another comment on this from Steve B over on the BBS:

"Steve Parish did already confirm last week in his interview with Jerry from Palace Radio that Julian will be offered a new contract. I imagine that this will happen once we've got the Fulham game out of the way."
