It's all about not losing face.

He's Chinese. They are a wee bit anal about that.

The only thing is he's Malaysian and not Chinese, Batu Pahat is over 2000kms from the Chinese Border.

He might be loathed by some, however he has injected some £150 Mill into Cardiff and without his investment Cardiff would NOT have been playing in the 'Premier League'.

100%, especially as I can't imagine the Chinese being as stupid as him.

Correction, change that to any league as they were only short time away from liquidation.

Just seen this :

In his statement, Mackay said he "enjoyed" his time at Cardiff and thanked Tan, the club's board and fans for their support.

He acknowledged Tan had "invested heavily in the club" and that their season in the Premier League would not have been possible without him.

He added: "I wish everyone associated with Cardiff City FC all the best for the future."

Moody also thanked Tan personally for backing that proved "decisive" in Cardiff's promotion to the Premier League and the club's fans for their "truly special" warmth.

Moody added: "My two and a half years at the club were amongst the most enjoyable and stimulating of my career and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Tan and the club's board for the support they showed me during that time."

I think they meant to write "Mackay" instead of "Moody" !

Can we agree on him just being a tw@t?

Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar and most other SE Asian nations have extremely large Chinese populations. The Chinese 'losing face' concept has been absorbed in to these cultures. In Thailand they use it as a 'get out of jail free card.'

I bet most Cardiff fans would rather Tan and their little foray to the PL had never happened....it can't have been a very enjoyable season for them really...

But if Tan had not appeared on the scene the club could have folded.'Sgt Bilko' has mentioned on this 'Thread' that Cardiff were a short time away from liquidation.

There might not have been any other interested parties taking over an ailing club !
