Very interesting reading - Can't believe I was part of the third largest crowd ever for one of our league games and yet it was by far the quietest one I've been to!

On the subject of stats, I remember reading an article before the start of the season just finished in which somebody had analysed the goals for and against records of clubs who have been relegated from the Premier League.

One very salient point that was made was that the teams who escaped relegation weren't the ones who scored the most goals but the ones who conceded the least. What better demonstration of that than our Goals For and Against record for 2013-2014 !

Point is backed up at both ends of the table. The team with the second best defensive record won the league, whilst the team with the 8th best threw it away. You won't achieve anything if naive at the back.
