Hi all,

Was asked to compile this list of Palace's top 5 ever players for Bleacher Report. Feel free to take a look and shout at me for the order/omissions!

Link dont work, but assuming you have John Jackson, Kenny Sansom, Ian Wright, Peter Taylor and Dougie Freedman on there it is spot on.

How can you include Lombardo?

He only played for half a season in the top division before breaking his leg and surely "best ever" must include an element of longevity.

Has to some kind of joke/ marketing scam.

No Kenny Sansom in the list?

Yeah, right.

No genuine Palace fan who knows their Palace history would omit him.

All these lists are entirely personal tho.

I know my palace history but wouldn't put cannon/Hilary/Samson in my personal list as I didn't see them play at all so I'm relying on other peoples opinions....so my list would be from late 80's onwards.

Neil Ruddock will rightfully feel aggrieved to have been overlooked.

Must be the players we like, rather than those we think are the best. I think Jacko is the very best followed by Rogers, Lombardo, Wright and Doris. No one can argue with me as this is my taste. Now if they're the best players...that's another question

My list of the best players I have ever seen in the 40 years of following Palace (based on players I have seen play in the flesh and in no particular order)

Dave Madden (simply the best player I have ever seen put on a Palace shirt. For younger fans imagine a player as tough and uncompromising as Mile Jedinak but who could pass!)
Andy Johnson (possibly the most natural goal scorer the club have ever had)
Kenny Sansom (incredible defender who was as comfortable going forward as he was defending)
Ian Wright (most influential player I have ever seen. Could change a game in an instant)
Attilio Lombardo (classiest player the club have ever purchased. Incredible reader of the game)

Honorary mentions to Speroni, and Doris and Thomas and Elwiss.
