Quite quick by trial standards, but there is a lot of preparation to go through, and the guy was already out of prison. The court of appeal had the option to exonerate Evans, but clearly the new evidence falls short of that criteria. I agree that he should have been able to pick up his career upon release. Additional punishment in the terms of employment exclusion benefits no one in rehabilitation. can you merge the threads please?

Biting down? Writing a job application to Chesterfield! Speaking of which. There's nothing like pretending to take the moral high ground in the name of free publicity. One of Chesterfield's sponsors claims to have withdrawn because of Evans, but A Chesterfield spokesman said: “HTM Products had already advised us at the end of last season that they were not planning to renew their stand sponsorship.

The judge seems to be laying down some pretty strict statements to the jury about researching the case online. I think this will be an interesting one.

Jury has gone out to consider their verdict, I reckon he will get off. If he does, would you have him at Palace (if he were good enough)?

Not good enough, so cleared (as he just has been) or not cleared, it's still a no.

What happens now? Will he go to Court to seek redress (lots of issues here for him and presumably for the police?) ... or will he try to pick up his career in football?
