I don;t think the fact that they count as U21 is relevant to the youth loan system, They use different rules.

Not sure of the loan rules but he does NOT need to be included in the 25 man squad we announce at end of the month.

Agreed that he won't count towards the 25 man squad but dont think he will qualify as a youth loan as he was 21 on 1st July 2014 as per FA rules.

Enrique must really be struggling if he is behind Sakho - every time I see him play he looks clueless. There must be better options out there.

There's a first choice and buyout option on Wilfs loan if I am not mistaken. If we pay £5m it has to be accepted. Is Wilf worth £5m? The 2 goals and penalty win in the playoffs alone are worth over £70m. I would.

You got a link to that anywhere? I haven't seen that before and would be surprised if those details were in the public domain.

I do remember reading that in the press at the time we took him on loan but there again I read the same thing about Murray's loan to Reading and that appears not to be true

As you say it was in the press at the time and neither club disagreed. A loan fee and agreement to buy at an agreed price with loan fee taken into account

With Murray Reading said such an agreement was in place We (SP and Colin I think)said there was no such agreement and that Murray was going to Reading to get game time on a short term loan and this would be reviewed in the transfer Window.

In contrast with Sanogo there are no similar rumours about a long term deal.

I think it is perfectly possible we will try to buy Zaha in this window but he is still not proven at EPL level so 5 million (plus loan fee) is too much, considering the 2 Spurs wingers are reportedly not much more than that. I suspect SP will try to renegotiate the purchase fee to nearer £2 million ( which probably equates to around 5 with the loan fee etc). The real question is do Man United want to sell and I think they do

one reason might be the fact one is a centre back and one is a left back...

Zaha still wants to go back to manure he said.

Offer them 2 or 3 mil max....why would you pay more for a squad player....hes no better than ince was.

Would rather have a LB permanently (be it Enrique who sounds as good as any with have a realistic chance at, or anyone else) and keep Wilf on loan.

However could AP/SP be worried that if Wilf improves his price tag will go up in the summer so take the risk on buying him now. An action which would suggest buy him is inevitable, at least as far as SP/AP are concern.

I think I remember Van G saying he'd only take Wilf back if he could fill a Striker role?

As for Wilf saying he wants to give Man U a crack, surely that could be seen as one of those things you say. I don't remember us having to battle anyone else for his loan agreement surely Wilf would rather play football for Palace than train for Man U.

Anyway this is all pure conjecture.

It's nice we're being linked to LBs finally.

Completely agree about the buy rather than loan.

I have no issues with the player, those saying he's not good enough for Liverpool, so what? We are Crystal Palace. He is the most proven realistic option. Everyone else would be a gamble but we know we'd get a decent Premier League left back for a mid-table side in Enrique.

But it doesn't show much ambition if we have to loan him. That seems quite desperate actually. Sanogo makes sense because he's an Arsenal youngster, the Zaha situation makes sense and if we could loan someone like Ashley Cole that would certainly make sense because he's out of our realistic price range/stature for such a player.

But I think we can afford a couple of million and be of a decent enough stature after 2 years in the Premier League to lure someone like Jose Enrique to the club without much hassle.

Zaha signs permanently, frees up loan slot for Enrique

I like this!

Exactly what we did with Puncheon to sign Ince on loan, although I like this more.
