how would you feel if it was your bet?

I have advised him to approach the press to see if they might publicise his lost bet. Hoping the bookies might take pity. Fat chance, I know

Have you ever seen a bet cruelly snatched away from you?

What were your circumstances?

I'm by no means an experienced gambler, but that slip to me reads that he has Vertonghen down as first goalscorer? So he actually hasn't lost anything due to the ridiculous offside?

Taking away from the fact you have to be an idiot to bet £15 on Vertongen to score 1st and a 3-1 win...that's harsh luck.

The t*** shouldav cashed out go and at least got a few hundred back.

On a few occasions I've been minutes away from winning £1000's only for a last minute Darlington equaliser to ruin things, but that's only from a quid.

He has because he needed the final score to be 3-1. I always have a crazy bet on palace games like but it's only ever a £1

The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years

There used to be a long standing bet in my then local, that you couldn't eat a tin of cat food in 5 mins.
My mate was a very stubborn bloke, had done a lot of other 'orrible stuff for bets.
He assured me this was a breeze.
After a lot of money flying about, that weekend in the small packed local, anticipating some fun, he was sat down, while the entire boozer looked on, hushed.
A large tin of whiskers prawn & fish special was plonked in front of him, with a very large desert spoon.
As soon as the first mouthful went in, the stench of that muck, the crunch of the texture, I saw the horror & pain in his eyes.
I lost a packet.
f***er only managed the one mouthful
He stunk of cat & fish all day.

Ignore me. I hadn't realised that Vertonghen had scored the first goal.

LOL!

Sod him! That's the risk you take in gambling.

Vertonghen to score at any time during the match I would say. Also some sites say first and last goalscorer for the same price.

Weirdly enough, if that goal had counted, I'd have won nearly £1500.

I pick six scores, then do singles, doubles, trebles and four folds.

I had Palace 3-2 at 50/1 and Spurs 3-1 at something like 14/1.

The £2 double line would have returned something like £1400.

I do the same bet every weekend and have been for 4-5 years. In all my time I've never got more than 2 right - apart from earlier this season when amazingly I got 4. That night I won £26,000! That was a good night.

Oh my good God, my cat won't even eat that stuff and see when I open the packet it practically makes me puke. How cats eat what they do beats me.
